Sort of a day off. I have to attend a couple seminars so I can learn to be a better communicator. Fortifying myself with Old Stock and a breakfast sandwich

How's that holding up? I remember it being one of the most interesting beers I've ever had.

This is my late update from Super Bowl festivities. The Mexican Cake was a relabeled bottle, because it came from a brewery employee. The Eclipse is the Java variant.

Very proud to see Maple Breakfast Stout in there! What did you think of the Java? I'm sitting on one at home and eager to try it.

Honestly didn't think it was that special. I much prefer some of the other variants (Four Roses!), but it is a nice coffee bomb. I wan more Bourbon heat and richness. This was almost too drinkable, that it didn't feel big. Others at the tasting loved it, and the guy who bought it says it is his favorite variant, and he's had a bunch.

Thanks for sharing. I've read it's not one to be aged so I'll be cracking it soon. Certainly wouldn't serve the purpose of getting the coffee out of it.

only the 2nd bottle i've had & the 1st was multiple months after the release. i would guess that it's holding up fine (in terms of nothing has turned in the flavor).

it's probably still one of the most "interesting" beers one could have. that said, i think you might be saying interesting the same way i would? the flavors are something *different*. it's hard to say something like they are divine or done perfectly. nothing offensive or unpleasant about it - it's just *different* is the best i can describe it. i also don't know enough about the raw ingredients & especially not in the brewing process to say each of them are or aren't well done/pronounced. & while i lean heavy towards stouts & porters, this definitely couldn't be an everyday pour type of beer for me.

Recycled picture from yesterday, but hey . . . I've got the next 5 days off work and a case of very fresh Nugget Nectar. Figured I'd start the morning off with some juice. You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning, eh?
