Wow, a 6 month old IPA that wasn't good fresh still sucks?! :shocker:

Have recent batches of this fixed anything? Was considering giving it another shot but not until I find a four pack with a DOB less than a month old.

Does SS date anything? I'v never seen a date on any of their cans, therefore I never buy any SS beers.

That's my beef on buying it. I don't trust the distributor/sales rep to pull off old stuff and the local market wouldn't know..

The holders have a DOB now. If you see one without it, it is OOOOLLLLLDDDDD

Funny...I've been thinking about this and have started looking for some fresh ones over the last couple of weeks. I found some September four packs.... then a few that were undated. Last night at Bunker Hill HEB (which usually turns their stock pretty quickly) I was appalled to see 5/xx/14. If it made it back to it's Pro-Am quality, I would buy this stuff all the time. SS needs to get a handle on this.

Bunker Hill HEB cleaned out the May Valkyrie. Now they have some fresh November stuff. If anyone finds some truly fresh Valkyrie, post it. I would really like to revisit this beer.

Southern Star has a draft beer out now called Half Nelson ( Half Nelson, half Mosaic) and it is seriously delicious. Rivals Yellow Rose. Hopefully they eventually can it because I would buy it. A lot.

I've been hearing good things but Hopped & Screwed was another strikeout for me. But for these good comments, I wouldn't be ordering it whenever I see it next.

Is Half Nelson in cans too? I looked on untapped to see where it has been consumed and some of the pics have it next to their default seasonal can, but I can't find anything about it being canned online

Those cans are samples. No can plan YET, from what I've been told.

Still on my search for some fresh stuff. I spoke to a SS Rep. at a tasting two weeks ago and he said they were pulling everything from the shelves and getting some fresh stuff out that week. I went looking today and found some canned 4/15/14. Yum!

I don't have $8 - $10 to waste on it to see. I also never see this stuff on tap. I am honestly surprised they are still producing it.
