This is SO what this thread is about -- I haven't checked in for about 5 hours, and got LIF results, amusing stories, good pictures... makes up for the disappointment of Monday morning. The good news is I found out Nugget Nectar is now available near me (and I will probably stop to pick it up on my way INTO work at 7:30 AM), and I got my inventory reorganized (the refrigerator was getting low, so I moved recent purchases and other chosen beers to the fridge). And yes, this WAS a tab in my beer spreadsheet that I printed out and used as a reference...

You're fine ... trust me, there are a few guys who are worse.

Although the one thing I have learned is not to blindly accept friend requests -- I think I accepted one guy I didn't know who has about 2000 friends; I have rejected 2 or 3 other requests after verifying they weren't locals members. Untappd actually gives an amusing response when you reject a friend request (something like "who needs friends anyway")

Yeah -- I mean some are cool (I got requested by the owners of Carton and Trillium pretty early), but I think there are some people who literally just try to friend thousands of people. I don't purge people I've already accepted, but I don't toast them unless they REALLY deserve.

How do you deserve a toast? Is it solely based on quality of beer?

I guess that sounded obnoxious -- typically if they either drink something that's in my very top tier and rate it high, or if they give a particularly insightful comment, or (in the past) if I had nobody else to toast, which isn't really an issue anymore.

I'm still fuzzy on proper toasting etiquette -- I rarely toast a beer with a low rating; and usually toast one that has a high rating that I agree with, if it is someone from far away checking in something local to me (I'm looking at you, @NJB145 ) I toast it if I see it.

I'm friends with Wil Wheaton on Untappd, he gets a pretty good amount of Toasts (and comments) on everything he checks in.

Recently someone asked him if he had ever had BCBS (he was checking in some other BA stout) and I added that if he hadn't I'd send him one, but no response :slight_frown:

Hey, @Syracuse12, or any of you other alumni, I'll be in Syracuse next week. What is the one brewery, bar, beer establishment that I need to try? Will just be getting off the airplane and will make a sip for beer, and maybe food before heading to Rome. I think we stopped at medival something or other last time, wasn't too bad...

You probably stopped at Middle Ages. Dinosaur BBQ is a staple of Syracuse, there are now a number of them but Syracuse is the original. Is good bbq for the north...

I'll write you more tomorrow when not on mobile

On the radio today they said that was a self-imposed penalty, and the opinion was that it was smart of them to take the hit now since they weren't having a very good year anyway...

Ha. I definately remember that trade. Awesome hookup and my first Surly. I blame you for introducing me to that deliciousness.

Appreciate the well wishes. My wife is doing better each day. At a rehab facility now, getting therapy daily and hoping to get home middle of next week. Also, my cousin(who's a contractor) surprised me today. Went home to shower and there was a brand new ramp to get in our front door (very well done to ADA specs I might add). Couldn't ask for more supportive friends and family, present group/company definitely included
