Is that The Ram's double IPA? If so, I think that was on several months ago and was tasting delicious.

They definitely bring some good stuff to the fests. One year Kevin brought a sour and coconut porter to the cask fest and both were awesome.

You're thinking way too much about this. The thing about celebrating is that you don't celebrate the way you do something the rest of the year. Can I not celebrate new years with a champagne toast because I drink beer the rest of the year?

Not sure if it's a double or not. IIRC, it was brewed as a tribute to Jim Quilter when he passed a few years ago.

From talking with the dudes at BW a while ago, i live down the street and visit often, they have a long lineage of ppl that used to work for them in the shop that now either are brewers or have strong ties with other breweries, whom they then ask to brew beer for their anniversary. So its not so much about what beer they've sold or bought or had on tap etc its about the ppl they've known for a long time who now work in other places that brew beer or contribute in some way to a brewery who has no obvious ties to their bottle shop. Hope that helps.

Man, guess everyone loves some Ram. I'm going to go grab an old Navy vest and some shirts from aeropostale and check them out some time.

Bend Beer by Jon Abernathy has a timeline based on Deschutes employees that kinda like you're suggesting, but a real family tree-style would be tough to lay out. Where do you put Patio?

No, dammit; NYE you have to watch funny cat videos on YouTube and eat a box of Tostino pizza rolls just like any other day.

I'll drop it. It's a weird analogy. Bottleworks takes a much different approach than other places on this sort of thing, and that's fine. I don't get it, and that's also fine. Enjoy your pizza rolls.

I like to arrange the pizza rolls on a nice plate in front of all my empty bottles. It makes me think, "I have lots of friends!"

Obligatory beer comment: I pair pizza rolls with a good pale ale such as Barley Brown's Hand Truck. IPAs tend to obliterate the delicate oregano character of a Tostino Pizza Roll.

    Anniversary Release[/paste:font]

Join us Wednesday, February 25th to celebrate our 16th Anniversary! It's been a long -sometimes crazy- ride and once a year we take time to relax, make a beer, and celebrate the road we've traveled. This year's beer was made by our good friends at The Ram brewery. Dave Leonard, Kevin Fordham, Bill Jenkins and the folks at the Ram Tacoma teamed up with us and Jason Parker from Copperworks Distilling to create a gin barrel-aged Baltic Porter. We are super excited about this beer, one reason being that it's the first beer The Ram has ever bottled. We'll have this one for sale in 22oz. bottles and on draft all day long (or for as long as it lasts). We will post the price, label, etc. once we've finalized details.

I'm interested enough that I'll show up, have a glass, buy a bottle or two, but won't get carried away like I have in years past.

Gin-barrel aged baltic porter? I'm having trouble imagining that flavor combo...

actually kind of stoked about this. haven't had a great gin-barrel aged beer yet, but this combo sounds nice.

best gin barrel aged beer I've had is Special Herbs from Upright, although that is a combo of gin and wine barrels. Plus, I believe de Garde's cran bu goes in gin barrels, and that's fantastic too.
