Slightly off topic here. I'm hoping to drive there from Philly tomorrow to check out the tasting room and take home a couple growlers. When at is their policy as far as what they fill? Other brewery's' labels? Unlabeled? Solely Carton branded? Also, any specific types of glass that they won't fill? I know that some breweries do not fill 32oz swing tops with the longer neck. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Im pretty sure they will fill any growlers. Last time I was there someone had a few Hill Farmstead growlers getting filled. They are open tonight from 5 to 730 i believe. I would give a call and confirm since youre making the trip.

we will fill most any 64/32 thing. we have a sticker that makes it compliant with the labeling laws. its paper it comes off easy once you are home if you hate it.

They bottom fill (use a tube) the growlers. The growlers do not have to be Carton but they will sell you their Carton branded growler if you need one (64 or 32 oz). It's important that your growlers are clean. They do not have the small caps (ie for pill bottle growlers) but have some large caps, if necessary. Swing top growlers are fine. Also, they have some pre-filled 32 oz growlers that are counter-pressure filled (last like a bottle) and waxed top (with swing top for future use). When I went, the wax growlers were shipwreck and scobeyville.

Just got a growler fill from the brewery. They're completely out of cans of everything, and the only waxed growlers left are Shipwreck Porter. Still worth stopping by for a growler of Regular Coffee.

If you're referring to the appearance--I was also not expecting what came out of the can. It looked more like an IPA than I was expecting--coffee beers are usually dark. I know its technically an imperial cream, but still, not what I was expecting. Aside from the appearance, I concur with others, this was a really solid beer--the booze is so well hidden. Glad I had the chance to get a 4 pack

FWIW, When I was there Sunday they didn't think the regular coffee would last through the day. Would definitely call before heading over.

12% beer in a 16 oz can?!?! Probably a bit dangerous for those with a normal tolerance for alcohol. It was definitely in my top 10 beers of 2014.

Haha its funny you say that--I'm so used to seeing 16 ounce cans that I was slightly disappointed when I saw it was a 12 oz can! But you're probably right @erha2 that could be deadly

I think the first guy was questioning why the second guy said he wished it was 16oz. Dude 2 then explained that he wanted more after one 12oz can.

How many bbls a year is carton shooting for? Kind of curious why I can't find it closer to Tribeca, but at the same time its not a huge surprise.
