Almost makes me wonder...if I am going to be miserable for 6 hours, is it worth it to be getting drunk at noon or 1pm super tired, cold, wet and miserable? Ive never had a beer in my life that I would do that for and I have had some good ones.

Though, I am going next weekend and the weather reports are for 70 and sunny...thats a completely different story.

There are things to help with that. Coffee, rain gear/umbrella, & prozac.

Coffee before beer?! Yuck...that's a horrible idea.

I did not have the best of luck mixing prozac and beer.

Your ratio must have been off. It is 5 prozacs to every 2 beers.

Must be going like clockwork there. No reports about getting soaked waiting in line for hours on end. Good.

I'm curious to hear...did the 3 hour limit help? Was the line just as long? Did limiting the 3 youngers to one person cut out the excess?

It's hard to tell how long the line really is since people are so spread out trying to avoid the doors to other businesses and because people are sitting in circles, etc.

Although, looks like the line goes to the Super Cuts, which doesn't appear to really be that far away...unless, of course, there is a multi-layer line just outside the doors.

So, it's literally impossible to know when to go to have the shortest wait but can anyone tell me when to go for the shortest wait?

Not sure that I have ever asked for the "shortest wait" but how early I should expect to get there in order to try to be the first group in the door. Or put differently, when do people start lining up? What is a realistic expactation of when I should have myself sitting outside? That's completely different than asking "so if I get in line at 11am, I'll get in by 2:50, which is only 3 hours and 50 minutes, versus getting there at 7 and getting in at 11, right?"

Reading comprehension skills must be lacking here...

You're over thinking this, bro. Wasn't singling you out, either.

Most of us can do basic math, and I don't think Chris or anyone else was trying to give you a hard time about this. Personally, I have absolutely no idea when the best time to go would be in order to encounter the shortest wait, but it probably isn't going to be the solution you're asking for. If I understand your question, you'd like some reasonable guarantee as to how early you would need to get there in order to be sure of getting in during the first wave. That's a tough question for anyone to answer, which is why I think any reasonable person is going to guess on the side caution, and tell you to get there way too early, as opposed to getting there just at the right time to just barely make it.

The bottom line is that there are no guarantees, as every year people get there earlier and earlier, in hopes of making sure they get in at some point before RR runs out of their daily allocation of younger. It sounds like you're set on going no matter what, and I don't want to dissuade you, but the reality is that there are no guarantees, no matter how earlier you decide to get there. You've read my recommendation already, but if you want to be absolutely certain, then what the hell... get there at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning... more than likely, that "should" be plenty early enough.

Maybe... In all honesty, with my original post, I had no idea what was even a reasonable time to think to start lining up. Wish more people were updating on their experience this year, though.
