My wife and I went last year and had an awesome time. Screwed up this year and scheduled a family vacation to San Diego. The good news that I can check out the new Ale Smith Brewery and all of the others (Stone, Ballast Point, etc.). Life is rough...

We were able to squeeze in an extra small batch of Citra in the brew schedule this go around so Citra will be on tap both weekends of the release (Jan 30th and Feb 6th). The weekend of Feb 6th we will hold a MINIMUM of two 1/2bbls for Friday and Saturday and one 1/2bbl for Sunday.

If you're referring to the weekend of Valentine's Day and not this upcoming weekend, then no it won't last til then.

Yeah I called the Adelaide about two months ago and they said they were booked but to call back after tickets went on sale because some people will cancel their rooms.

To all those reading this, apparently we don't have a FW login (wtf?) but here ya go:

Yes, we are aware that some of you may not know who is coming or maybe your friend bails out (which sucks for them), but you can easily edit names via your Eventbrite account before May 30th. We are going to do our best to match names when scanning, but we certainly won't want to hold up the line. If ANY tickets have an issue being scanned and the ID name does not match the ticket name, then that person will not be allowed to enter, hence the importance of names matching the tickets. Sound good?

As for the "VIP" tickets - I cannot stress enough that we have never called these "VIP". These are EARLY ENTRANCE tickets and get you access to the event one hour prior to the masses. We do not control special pour times that other breweries designate for ourselves, so we cannot control those lines. By having an Early Entrance ticket, you get to enjoy all the beers that are listed in the program without any wait time. Special pours and bonus beers are beyond our control and you do not get access to the front of the line just because you have an Early Entrance ticket. We're all equals once inside!

If you have any other questions, you can email me personally and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner. We are getting down to the wire now, tickets are gonna go fast, my best advice is to be ready! Hope to celebrate with you all in May. Oh, and the FAQ page is really helpful, please read it: http://www.firestonebeer.com/mingle/fw-invitational-beer-fest-faq.php

It probably came from last years contest when they Early Entrance Tickets were up in the video contest and it was called VIP Early Entrance Tickets. (Yes they came with an extra tour and something else) but the wording on the press release was: "VIP early-entry tickets to the fest" + those other things so I think the nomenclature got stuck as this press release was the most fan involved and they are seeing that wording throughout.

That was a completely separate thing. They literally won a VIP weekend here at FW.

I'm aware... I'm not calling it a VIP. I'm just trying to help speculate as to why people may have gotten it confused as VIP vs just early bird which you were trying to help dispel the notion that it was ever called VIP, I'm not trying to say that you were calling it VIP at the time... Long story short... I'm on your side...

I wish they would post a taplist earlier than they do. The day before is kind of crappy.

As far as events in general this is probably, if not, the best one. The taplist from last year was a little underwhelming though. Still had a great time with good food but you don't get a taplist like Hunahpu or DLD.
