Stout BIF Round IV

I may regret bringing this up, but last round we had a large number of people that wanted to refrain from sending regular BCBS unless it was a specific want on your target's list (unless it is a previous year I believe), to avoid basically swapping each other's BCBS. Is that something we are looking at again?

As someone who is new to this BiF thing... is there a particular order we are supposed to adhere to when sending?

 

Newcomers generally send a week before the rest of the BIFers. There is no particular order, no waiting turns. Sometimes people send a pre-shipping window box just to get things started, then follow it up with a massive bombardment of other boxes.

 

You ship first and set the bar...We will then proceed to raise the bar higher and higher...Last round someone decided to completely blow up the bar and shipped a BA Abraxas....

 

See that... so if you ship BA Abraxas early, we're all in for big letdowns the rest of the way through.

 

Somehow I doubt that, I think a fair number of these ridiculous people would see to it that the bar was raised anyway.

As another BIF newbie, I have a rather basic question... Are we all shipping to our targets at once? Or do we ship one by one mm, posting results as we go?

I'd say yes, it's easy enough to add/remove it to your Wants. The assumption is that variants and vintage bottles are always welcome, but the current year's batch goes by it being a Want.

So make sure it is a Want

Agree, last year there were a lot of talk about bcbs and we wanted to make sure we were not all sending out to each other, kind of silly. So, if you want bcbs, our it in ways. That doesn't mean it won't be included, just gives some indication of you are looking for it.

 

I just want to be clear here, I would certainly appreciate a BCBS vertical.... just saying.
