I might be the only guy on here who thinks Rogue make decent beer, at least the handful that I've tried, but damn it's ridiculously priced.

+1 all the comments about Nebraska. Insane pricing.

Jester Kings beers are all overpriced. 750's only and most are 12-15 bucks, and none of their beers are truly great IMO, your paying for fancy labels it seems mostly. I'll take a 7 dollar bomber from Stone anyday.

East End. Overpriced, mediocre, and inconvenient. That's three strikes.

I'm a fan of some of their beers and recently, I saw 6 packs of Hazelnut Nectar for ~$12. I consider that a damn good bargain for what I get.

I keep forgetting to try that one. I'll give it a go when I find it, probably in a bomber.

"They" meaning you are buying directly from the brewery? Pretty vague question and you are asking people from around the US so there are many other factors if you don't mean buying directly from the brewery ... distributor and on/off presmise mark ups, etc.

FWIW, threads like this get old real fast ... if you don't think it is worth it then don't buy it. Life it too short to gripe about it, move on.

I find Weyerbacher to be very reasonably priced, especially the particular beers you mentioned. I get a 6 of Merry Monks, for $10.99. Less than $2 per bottle for a 9.3% abv award winning tripel is as cheap as it gets. And $8.99 -$9.99 for the Double Simcoe 4 pack is cheap also. Are your prices significantly different?

Right. I've been biting my tongue about this thread since Thursday but I gotta say there's about 5 pages of negativity here. Sure some breweries seem to charge too much for some beers but there are reasons for this. The cost of ingredients and production both come to mind as does the market's going rate for beers of a similar ilk. There are many others. If a brewery makes a beer which I perceive as too expensive I just won't buy it and there's so much good beer out there now that I'm not short of alternative choices which are more affordable.

I understand people'll disagree with me but at the very least 5 pages is more than enough to air poster's 'grievances'. Move along folks and let's all thank the Lord that we're no longer living in the beer reality of 1973.

I dont know how things are priced where you live, but in WA almost every DIPA is under $10. Including Pliny. Hop Stoopid is $4.50 and it is one of the best DIPAs around.

This is a 4 pack I am talking about, not a bomber. $8.99 for 48oz of a great DIPA.

Stone is incredibly reasonably priced, you are all completely insane. We have their tenth anniversary ruination for like 7.49, and their russian imperial for even less... which is a top 20 stout.

Also, all of rogue's beers are abysmal, and incredibly expensive. That dry hopped red was like 14 dollars for a six pack, and tasted like wet cardboard and pine needles. Blech.

My shop only gets a case of each and we don't get the case deal that would drop the price, so for smaller stores like ours the price would jump up a bit. I see those prices, maybe only 50 cents or a dollar more around here often.

My original thought was more a drunk gripe about how the labels WERE so poorly done and cheap(I hope for their sake) that I passed over some of their beers. I'm in the middle of 2 4pks of 17 and I always have a sixer of Merry Monks...I'd love to try Double Simcoe but I never see it fresh.

A brewery in a place like, say, Newport OR will have to have ingredients and packaging trucked in and finished products trucked out. All on 2 lane roads for a fair ways. Adds a lot of cost.

I think Surly is a good bit overpriced. I still buy it and never complain because I love the brewery and the brews coming out if it. I just don't buy as much as I want....

I find Italian breweries all price their stuff high even when I am Italy the Belgian stuff is less expensive.
