I've had them, separately, but like Superman and Clark Kent I've yet to see both of them together. Anyone ever try blending them? I'm thinking 2/3 grapefruit + 1/3 habanero would be amazing.

Mixing Habanero with regular Sculpin is good for those who think it is just a bit too hot. I don't care for the grapefruit.

I've never seen the hab sculpin around me, but since the grapefruit sculpin just showed up and I have an abundance of fresh habaneros in the pantry I may have to do some experimenting/bad decision making soon.

I don't like infused grapefruit, which means that I'm not a fan of Grapefruit Sculpin, but I am reading this post so I must be interested. Regular Sculpin is great, but I would rather see some kind of dry-hopped version than infused anything. And Habanero?! I personally don't get the chili-induced heat in beer at all. In high ABV beers, it masks the taste of the alcohol which I don't like (but recognize others might like, and in deference to the revered chili pepper), and in low ABV beers - it just doesn't mix. In my opinion.

Sculpin is too expensive to experiment with IMO. Maybe I'm just jaded about how much Ballast Point is charging the last few years.

I got these beers at about 2 bucks each at Total Wine. I don't think it is too expensive

I was suggested this by the cashier at my local bottle shop. She said it was really really good.

You got lucky. Average price for a 6 pack of Sculpin is 14-16 dollars. The Grapefuit is even more expensive at 17.49 here (California mind you).

Both habanero and grapefruit are $2.99 at my local shop. I don't care enough to the experiment by myself but if anyone else wants to try I can snag some for you.

My first thought when I read this was "if it was mango instead of grapefruit, you'd almost have a mango salsa beer"... XD

I blended Sculpin, Sculpin nitro, grapefruit, and habanero together at Ballast Point and it was good. Grapefruit is too sweet on its own and habanero is too hot. The blend was nice.

A weird friend of mine did this mix a few weeks ago. He ordered it on tap and asked the server to do half Grapefeuit and half Habanero. The server gave him the stoneface look of the century. He said it didn't taste bad at all. I tried his concoction and I didn't like it. Sometimes it's best to just leave things be. Innovative though.
