According to Fonta Flora's Facebook page, they are scheduled to release two new bottles on February 7th:

    "Funk and Monk
    Saturday, February 7th
    3pm-11pm

Appalachian Wild Ale: Kiwi Funk Bottle Release

Appalachian Wild Ale: Fennel Funk Bottle Release

Urban Monk Imperial Stout Madness: Eight Different Varieties of Urban Monk on Draught.

Special Edition Screen Printed Urban Monk Swing Top Bottles: 150 Bottles Available. One Per Person. Any Variety of Urban Monk.

Grand Opening of Our Newly Remodeled Space."

Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun! For those who were unable to attend their last bottle release, it went so smoothly.

Man, I might have to make the quick trip to Morganton for this.

My best advice is to bring cash for the bottle purchases. They accept debit/credit at the bar, but depending on how busy the bar is, cash was just so much quicker.

How many variants of Urban Monk will be in bottles?

According to the post, it sounds like there will be 8 variants of Urban Monk on draft and you can fill 1 of the 8 variants in a swing top bottle. They are only releasing the two wild ales in actual bottles.

Any clue on bottle count compared to the last release?

No clue yet. I can't speak for Fonta Flora, but maybe they will post as the release date gets closer how much they have.

That Fennel Funk is awesome! That was one of the beers they were pouring at Release the Funk 2, and it was one of the best beers I had that day. I really wish I could make this, but I'll be out of town that weekend. @aleckpa feel like talking about hookin me up again?

Anyone try the Kiwi Funk? Hopefully bottle shops carry both soon, the drive isn't too bad but don't want to do it if it isn't worth it.

Both beers are really good. I'm probably going to make it up there and I have a place to stay in Morganton.
Based on the last release, I'd say it's likely Salud, Good Bottle, and maybe a couple others will get some bottles. I do hope they go for $15 rather than $20 though.

Asheville got a handful of Echoview Estate bottles so I'm crossing my fingers we'll get some more.

Wish I could make this. Anybody from the Triad going who might be able to bring me back a bottle of each?

I'm not sure these will make it to any bottle shops, as I would expect them to be in higher demand than the tripel. Hope I'm wrong though.

Hope some of it makes its way to distribution, too. I have a great deal of respect for this brewery and wish I could make it there tomorrow.

Thank you for putting on such a well organized event. So many amazing beers, but that Mexi-Monk and Turkish Monk in particular were fantastic.

Anybody know if these bottles will see distro in Asheville like their last bottle release?
