Just bought this last Friday for $14. I rarely ever spend that much on a bomber of beer, but I think this will be worth it.

Boulevard's barrel treatments are usually pretty subtle, so I'd think the coffee would overpower any barrel character if it was there. Plus, two treatments might push the price past the set level they have for this series and I assume they don't want to do that. The old Coffee Ale was awesome, so this should be a very solid contender as well.

I find the barrel on Boulevard's beers to be quite strong actually.

Will be in my beer store this week!!!! I have it on reserve. I would like to see how it compares to Cafe' Boris.

I've heard accounts all over the place, and it depends on the beer too. From my own experiences the Imperial Stout is not heavy on the barrel, nor is BBQ, while Rye on Rye is all barrel. I guess preferences determine the amount on the palate too.

This isn't barrel aged like their regular stout?

Haha well I wouldn't go that far, but barrel aging generally is an improvement!

Partially aged. Not 100%. That might be the reason.

We get Boulevard down here in Miami. So can I read your comment as this one making its way down too?? Would love to get my hands on some. I'm a HUGE fan of Dark Truth.

@TheJermis Wasn't the Imperial Stout 100% BA this year? I thought I read that. Or maybe it was someone's wrong assumption because the bottle doesn't mention blend %. Regardless, it's the best it has been since 2008 to me.
