I am trying to find a bottle of 2009 Black Tuesday. I put up two threads:
    1) 2xKH + something like a 4-pk of KBS for 1x09BT
    2) 1x2009 BA Speedway Stout + something like KH or BBHiFi etc.

I heard crickets on both and just wanted to get opinions on where i went wrong.

    Thanks,
    Dan

09' BT trades extremely high. I would think, KH x 2 + 09' BA Speedway 'might' get it done, but KBS/HIFI can both be obtained fairly easily, and stuff like BT 09' usually isn't traded away for "quantity"

Good luck.... I'd love to try it some day myself!

'09 BT is pretty tough to land, but I'm quite surprised your second option didn't do the trick, or at least spark some conversation. I'd say give it another shot and the right person(s) might see it this time.

It's strange that KH trades so much higher than BB HiFi. The bottle counts are totally different.

    KH - 12000 btls
    BB HiFi 2012 - <1000

Neither of them are going to be made again (well the King might make a return, i've heard rumors of barrels at GI labeled KH) and they are both epic BWs. Any thoughts?

I think your second offer is very fair and at least illicit a conversation of some sort... But then again, I don't have an 09 BT, so my opinion means shit

To be honest, the issue is probably the fact that you think KH is worth more than it is... which can be said for 90% of the ISO/FT forum these days. Unfortunately, '09 BT is mostly in the hands of older traders... ie. people who know KH is not worth what most people think it is these days.

Umm...BA HiFi has been made twice. Do you have inside info, to confirm it won't be made again?

Don't offer KBS ever if you're looking for something big, ever. Experienced traders don't give a damn about KBS.

I realize that, but does that mean Flossmoor absolutely won't let Nick continue with one of their most popular beers? Ultimately any recipe created by a brewer, while working for a brewery, belongs to the brewery. I was just curious if they announced it wouldn't be done again (which very well could be, I just haven't seen it).

If Flossmoor cared about recreating their most popular beers these days, where is the Wooden Hell re-release?

I agree with this. If you are looking for something big, don't waste your time offering KBS, BCBS, Parabola, etc. They really don't improve your offer. Traders who have those big beers know they don't have to give up anything big to get them.

I see what you are saying, and thought of this myself, while typing my previous comment. My thought is that Wooden Hell, was a one off. BA HiFi, has been released 2 years in a row (debating on whether you consider the 1st batch '10 or '11). So, that makes it seem like an annual release, but obviously I could be completely wrong. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Nick help on the 2nd batch? If so, he would have a working knowledge of the recipe and flavor profiles the beer should have, throughout the process.

    1) With the direction they seem to be headed, it seems as though it may not interest Flossmoor to brew a beer like Wooden Hell again. 2) Even if they did, my hunch is that the widespread belief is that, same recipe or not, it wouldn't truly be at the same level as the original WH. When was the last time a Flossmoor beer - even a big, barrel aged one - had the same kind of buzz around it as WH or earlier batches or Big Black Pumpkin or Hi-Fi?

I think you missed something here. No one was saying Wooden Hell would ever be made again. The debate was if BA HiFi would be made again. Wooden Hell was only brought up, as immobilisme's example of Flossmoor not recreating their most popular beers.

I would say the fact that they didn't release a regular HiFi with this year's batch of BA HiFi would be the biggest indication that they are not going to have a new vintage next year.

    Timeline:
3/20/2010- Regular 2010 HiFi is released
2/26/2011- Regular 2011 HiFi and 2010 BA HiFi are released
2/18/2012- 2011 BA HiFi is released
