Hopslam in NOVA (northern Virginia/ DC)

This is becoming true. Supposed to leave week of Jan 19th according to Bells. WTF?

 

Why February 9th? Have you heard something?

When I was in the Sterling, VA Total Wine yesterday, one of the managers said come back in one week.

So maybe 2/10?

 

Bells must really love this Hype. I remember last year not being too sure about the taste, but I drank it anyway. I think I liked the year before that much better, but I only had it in bottles. I am curious to see how this year's matches up to last.

 

We (Virginia) got the later end of NN also, but it was canned in my case 1/27/15. I wonder what the bottle date on Hopslam will be, especially since the brewery had us scheduled for a week of 1/19 ship out. Distributer issue? I know people get a little crazy about freshness but with this beer I think it matters...

 

Probably a distributor issue. Hop and Wine, same distributor who held onto Founders Harvest for a couple weeks this past fall (Troegs is a different distributor). From what I have seen, all the other markets who were on the 1/19 distribution from Bells received 1/9 bottles and those on the 1/26 distribution received 1/18 bottles. I guess it's possible VA is getting 1/18 bottles but I wouldn't count on it.

 

Has anyone ever contacted them to see whether they are aware that IPAs should be drank fresh?

Dude, you have to do some homework on your own. I mean I am all for helping, but all your replies are asking and asking for information. Make some calls and find out!

 

Just start checking the stores Facebook/Twitter pages. Most of the solid beer stores around the area post what they get in. It will be everywhere and not hard to get, just like every single year.

 

Sorry, was under the impression that this was a forum for providing this information. Also, I was the one that provided links that Churchkey and Town Hall were tappiong keg today. Just looking for a little friendly information, my mistake.
