No for sure, that's why I said "I hope this isn't a final label". With minor changes they could fix it.

Jardinier was a much simpler project. These new Terreux labels have to introduce a whole new brand while preserving certain connections to The Bruery. The colors, for instance, look like they're very close to the existing Saison Rue label. I would have done it differently, but I respect the magnitude of the job that the designer faced, and I really like some of the elements of the new label.

If the beer tastes good, the labels really don't matter.

Not very excited about the design. I look forward to seeing one or two additional bottles to compare.

to the uninitiated labels matter because they catch the attention of the consumer. to the people in the know, they could have a terrible label and still have the beer fly off the shelves.

When you're an Art Director / Graphic Designer the labels do matter to me, so thanks.

I dont know anything about graphic design, but the black outline followed by the white outline followed by shadowing seems like way overkill, and kinda makes it seem a bit cheesy. But like I said, this is an area that I know nothing about.

You are beyond wrong. Marketing is everything in a retail business.

When I got to the batgirl on a bomb I at first thought it was Harley Quinn but then I thought I was back at the Toolbox tasting room with all of those pictures on the wall.

Several of those images have the same problem that "Bruery" has in this logo: the typeface you've chosen is overly-stylized and makes it very hard to read the words (example).

I also work in design. What I see here is people overanalyzing and viewing to criticize, not as consumers. I made my comment above not because your work is bad (I like it) but because it is easy to snipe at individual elements of a design.

The overall style is clear: the Terreux logo is front and center and easy to read, as is Saison Rue, while the Bruery logo is hidden and a less easy to read. It's clear what they want to accomplish: focus on the Terreux brand over the Bruery brand. They've carved out a nice, distinct style that is a mix of modern and antique (that I like, but that's subjective). I like how they embedded the original Bruery label turned into a seal and the back label (the info you actually have to read) and beer info are clean.

Most of those weren't used on grey backgrounds, the stroke for the most part was used as a knock out to separate off the base. Your example was printed on the same color the stroke is.

I liked the overall aesthetics of the label, all I said was the stroke needed to be subdued and aligned to the outside rather than it eating up the inside of the logo.

They have officially unveiled the new Saison Rue label so that looks to be the final cut. They will be unveiling 7 new labels over the week.

i think the name is more of a potential problem than the labels. don't get me wrong. i think it's cool. and i'm sure most Bruery fans probably like it and get it. but for uninitiated people seeing that on shelves, it might not be the most inviting name. i'm guessing a lot of people won't even know how to pronounce it
