They get smashed. I normally put them on top or on the side.

 

I don't look at a 'double' style as 'double the everything', I look at it as 'double the essense of the base'. That doesn't mean double the hops and the same amount of malt as an IPA, but it does mean I should get a significant amount of increased hopiness with the same perception of malt as in IPA. That would require increased malt from an IPA, but not double the malt, at least from what I've tasted. I would expect the IBU/OG ratio to go up by maybe 50% or so, whereas I feel like a lot of Double and Triple IPAs keep the IBU/OG ratio fairly close to being inline with what an IPA is.

LIF Time: WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!?!?

I've been the recipient of an LIF win or two recently, so here comes another one from me. I'm going to try something a little different this time, hopefully it'll be fun. I've just finished dropping off a few boxes of beer to FedEx on my lunch break. One of those boxes is my end of a trade and it's going to @UcDru. Your task is simple, guess what is in the box that I sent him. His box should land on Friday. The winner will be revealed when @UcDru posts his haul.

Rules / Hints:
1. There are 15 total beers in the box. There may or may not be mulitiples of certain beers. That's the only hint.
2. You must have posted in this thread before to be eligible to win.
3. One guess per person and you must tag me with your guess.
4. Deadline for entry is Thursday 2/12 by 7 pm mountain time so I have time to tally everything up.
5. You must like beer.
6. Whoever guesses the most correct beers in the box, wins. If there's a tie breaker, I'll deal with that when I need to...
7. If you do win, you may choose one other member of the Locals to receive a second LIF box. Your choice.

 

Mine were packed on top and they came out pretty good actually, surprised the hell outta me.

Another thing that surprised the hell outta me was I saw them at a grocery store here last week. But no worries, I will not steal the "business" you get from your crab chips

Italy in the right position and 2/3 cities correct.

The answer to number 1 has been guessed in the wrong position and 1 of the 3 cities was correct.

Answer 3, No one is even close.

 

...and just so everyone knows, I'm going to need EXACT guesses on all of these (i.e. - I'm not even saying this beer is in the box, but for example, Nightmare on Brett has been aged and released in multiple different barrels @whyteboy003 )
