Since Pliny-season and stout month are now over, it seems like a pretty good time to meet up at some of the many small breweries in the area that have been popping up.
Just looking back at 2011, we saw places like Renegade, Copper Kettle, Lone Tree, Wit's End, Denver Beer Co., Arvada Beer, Co., etc. pop up and succeed. Plus, there are tons of old faves like the Bull & Bush, Dry Dock, Wynkoop, & Strange, too.

Based upon how different areas are set-up, we could do a one-off meet-up at a single brewery or even make a trip of it and hit up a half dozen or more for a bit of a "brewery crawl."

What are some places people like or are eager to try? Any parts of town people prefer?
I'll toss out a random date of March 24th as a target. I live over in Aurora so I know this zone pretty well and can plan anything over this way. For sheer variety, though - you can't beat the area surrounding the 'Koop, though. With the right planning there are roughly 8-9 potential brewery stops down there, plus the light rail trains.
    Whaddya say? Any suggestions?

I'm game. It doesn't really matter where...it's all beer! I haven't been to Wit's End, North River or Arvada in my region. The ones further south I haven't been too either. It won't take much arm twisting to get me to go.
I live in the Highlands and can walk to downtown and light rail.

Have many people been to Pints Pub? Seems like an overlooked place with 'real ale'.

I'm down for whatever, but Pints Pub is totally on my list....

I'm guilty of forgetting Pint's too often. I don't think I've been there in 5-6 years, so I'm all too happy to head back.

I haven't been to Wit's End, Copper Kettle, or Lone Tree. Haven't been to Strange since they first opened. I like Pint's, but the only problem is that I usually want Scotch when I go there. Seems a shame to go there just for beer.

I'm down for whatever so long as I can make it down.

I'm down, depending on dates. Keep us updated here and let's consider making it a semi-frequent event!

Just a thought, but why make it just a one time event? We could rotate to a few different ones (maybe weekly/bi weekly) for a beer and ppl could have some flexibility and support our local brewries that are really killing it. Just a thought.

PS if you haven't seen it Wit's end was in the ny times. Awesome for scott.

Count me in. Either Pints early for some warm beer and chips or late in the evening for some Corryvreckan and Scottish slang.

I'd be interested. I was actually thinking about posting the same thing yesterday while at The Rackhouse (which has some awesome beers on tap right now).

There's no reason we can't do this regularly - I was just trying to get the ball rollin'. If nothing else, I've been reminded that Pint's exists which I always forget about. The idea of a few cask ale pints, some fish & chips, and maybe a scotch sounds pretty appealing after all.

Seems a lot of folks either haven't been to Wit's End, or have been pretty happy with it. We could always start off there and head over to Pint's afterward (or vice versa). That could be a good enough first meet up, and the lower ABV beers at Pint's lend themselves to a social gathering.

I could probably make it every other month (assuming it is a monthly thing) considering I pick up the 3 yr old and my wife is 8 weeks prego. Please keep this thread up with dates and I can plan ahead. This sounds awesome, thanks for starting it up semi-officially Dom!!

EDIT: I am out for this month. Already had Younger and Wild Turkey Ten Fidy last week, and this weekend have an overnight both Friday (Strong Ale) and Saturday (EPIC tasting reuinion with my first ever tasting partners...hopefully including Chad from Crooked Stave).

    Enjoy all!

Sounds great. I haven't been to any of the Breweries mentioned. Would really like to try Copper kettles Mexican Chocolate Stout..

How's about's Wednesday evenings? The thinking is that there are only 2 more work days in the week to muscle through. Or weekends?

Depending on dates, count me in. March 24th is open for me so far, and most Wenesdays work too. Friday, Sunday and Tuesday I'm usually booked.

My votes: Copper Kettle, Lone Tree, Wit's End, Arvada Beer, Bull & Bush, Dry Dock

Saturdays are best for me, but I can make the occasional weekday evening trek. I’d think that places that serve food or have food trucks outside are definitely going to be best for those nights.

I’ll let a few more people chime in and then try and finalize at least one event for this month. If anyone wants to do something before or after (or in another area) – I’m game for that, too.

Depending on how it turns out it might be fun to have everyone bring a bomber of something good for everyone to try. I know a lot of the local breweries are cool with bringing in outside beer as long as you are willing to share with them. : )

Yeah I am pretty flexible, it would be nice to meet some of you and get out to some of the breweries I've missed thus far.
