I enjoyed some Hop Chop tonight at the Falling Rock Pliny release. I'm pretty sure that I liked the Hop Chop better than Pliny. Awesome beer!

That's been the consensus all night, but it's always nice to have Pliny; so damn fresh too.

Totally agree. Its a good problem to have Pliny rank second among the two IIPAs I had tonight.

And kudos (do people still say that?) to FRTH for a well-run release.

Sorry...should've been clear. I was talking about the Younger. Although FR did have Elder on tap tonight too, so if you were feeling buff you could have done a Younger v. Elder v. Hop Chops super comparo.

    Mmmmm, super comparo.

Judging by @Todd 's facebook page, he did just that....and more!

I agree, it's not a bomb by any stretch for sure. Very balanced in the best way, I think.

Also, a 10 oz pour is 6 bucks. So a 64 oz growler should be $60... I fail to see the problem. And no other place would even let you.dream of filling your growler with their limited IIPA.

I fail to see how that math checks out

The math is perfect... if you finished a couple homebrews and a bomber of Left Hand Oaked Wake Up Dead. THEN the math is perfect!

So sober math would be $36 for that? Still a bit of savings. OK back to bed...

Was happy to fill a couple growlers at that price yesterday. That beer is ridiculous.

We've filled growlers of all our draft beer since day one. If you want to get told "no growler fills", you'll have to go elsewhere.

So much for my plan of stopping in and hoping to be turned down for a growler fill. :flushed:

So....it's very, very good. The closest thing I can compare it to is super fresh Maharaja, but with more citric notes. Nothing bad to say about it at all.

Ditto. Only one growler fill for me so far but there will be another soon.

Delicious beer. I had a couple at the PtY release at Falling Rock.
Hoping to have another one after work tonight, unless all you bastards drank it!

This beer is going to medal in a very competitive (maybe most competitive) category at GABF, is my prediction. If David enters it, that is...maybe he doesn't want the pressure to make hundreds of barrels of it!

EDIT to ask--do they do 32 oz growers there? Those are the size I prefer. If they do, anybody got a price for a 32 oz fill of Hop Chop?

Confirmed, they do both 32oz and 64oz growlers. I believe I paid $18 for a 32oz a couple days go.

Yup, that's correct. I did the same thing.

I did as well, and regretted that decision...should have gone for the 64!
