Surly Abrasive Release Info

I drank a non-dated can last night that I received in a trade. There weren't any carbonation issues and it tasted great!

 

2/6 cans at france44.

 

Anybody finding many 1/23 canning's in the east metro? I have been to Total Wine in both Woodbury & Roseville as well as a couple other east metro spots this week that tend to price the stuff reasonable and all I'm finding is the 1/13 canning.

I have purchased 3 four packs with the 1/13 canning date from TW in Woodbury and all have been great.

I don't doubt that. I had a 4-pack from the early canning that was pretty disappointing. Just playing the odds based on the posts in this thread. Seems to be way fewer complaints from the later canning. Did pick up some 1/23 Friday night and it is drinking awesome.

 

I've been following this entire 22 page thread and I think it was mentioned somewhere, but I'm just gonna ask again, who has the cheapest Abrasive in the downtown Minneapolis area? I'm going to be in town next Saturday and plan on picking some up. Would like to save a few bucks if possible. Thanks dudes.

 

I think the post a couple above yours (866) has been the cheapest at $12.99, but I'm guessing it won't be around long at that price. Good luck hunting!

 

it will probably be around for a bit. they are in Long Lake. not quite close to MSP.

i think people said Boozemart is the cheapest. otherwise, Total Wine. closest Total Wine to MSP is Rosedale.

truthfully, most places you are looking at $14.99 to $15.99, with some being as high as $17.99. not sure its really worth the drive just to save a buck. any local store should have it at a reasonable price.

Still looking for an answer to this...the low carb cans are still in a number of liquor stores for sale at full price... doesnt seem right....

 

Not Downtown, but Lowry Hill Liquors (in Uptown, on the edge of Downtown) apparently has it for $12.99 through 2/21.

 

for those in the area, Gold Nugget in Minnetonka has Abrasive on tap.

 

Any sightings of Abrasive fresher than 1/23?

I just opened my first 1/23, what a difference from the earlier canning dates I had. I thought the previous ones were good, but this was on a different level.

 

is this issue fixed as of the 1/23? I've been waiting to buy any until it is resolved

 

I had some of the earlier canning dates and contacted Surly, they took care of the issue for me. Can't say enough good things about this brewery and their people! Just had a can from the 1/23 run and it was fantastic! Had it on tap at the brewery last Friday and its just an amazing beer! Also, the coffee bender and fiery hell were outstanding. Going to have to make the trip from Rochester to Minneapolis more often just to stop by the brewery.
