So, I just found out that my wife and I are expecting a baby girl this July! Pretty exciting news... i'm also scared as hell! I'm already gun shopping! :astonished:

I'm a beer and bourbon lover through and through. I love celebrating life moments with special bottles. I've already decided on my bourbon for the celebration: Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch 2013 - 125th Anniversary Edition. I'm already working out a trade for that beauty.

Now I just need to figure out what special beer to crack when she is born. I'm looking for suggestions. Have any of you cracked anything special for the birth of your first daughter? Do I go after the elusive Ann since it's a girl's name? Any fun ideas?

Congratulations! I couldn't imagine drinking anything as the following weeks (especially the following days) are probably going to be largely sleepless and take you to new brinks of exhaustion. My suggestion would be to sleep as much as possible now so you can remember it fondly come July. But, if you do go the beer route, I always thought Deliverance from Lost Abbey would be appropriate.

    Good luck!

Congratulations! A Sofie or Juliet from Goose Island although, since you are contemplating the purchase of a weapon, I would stay away from GI Lolita! lol And relax, it is easier than it first appears. I raised four boys and now have the joy of experiencing my new granddaughter. At 18 months she is already a pistol. And I already own several weapons. I also own a shovel and have a solid alibi! Cheers!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! This is awesome! I'm over protective as it is....throw a baby girl in the mix and I might go overboard!

I like the idea of one of the GI sisters. I loved Gillian.

Congratulations! I'm having my first child, a baby boy next month. I decided to go after my two biggest wants, a Bourbon County Rare and a DDG. I landed the Rare and am still trying to find a DDG. It's obviously a once in a lifetime event, so try to land that whale you have always wanted! Cheers and good luck!

Congrats. But wait until she's at least 18. Otherwise you could run afoul of the law. But on the serious side, celebrate now. Either you won't have time or won't want to drink when you child is first born.

I'm in this boat. When my son was born I was barely eating, let along trying to crack open a beer. I think i dropped 5-10 lbs in a week.

Congratulations. My girls are literally the best thing that ever happened to me! It is life changing however it really is not as tough as most make it out to be, unless you get a bad one, LOL! My second was so quite and sedate that I would (this is going to sound mean but I was concerned) walk into her room while she was sleeping and clap my hands to see if she would wake up. I really thought she may have a hearing issue. She was just so damn good! She is now 13. This is where your drinking may very well accelerate!

(note I say, "my girls" which includes my wife . . . in case she would stumbleupon this post, lol).

I have a little one due in May (we are not finding out what gender until Junior comes out.)
I haven't really thought hard about what to pop when the little one comes home, but I'm sure I can find a few things in my cellar...
