I have had a couple that I thought were lower carb than normal but not remotely close to flat.

Most of a case of 1/23 was spot on

Not saying you do NOT deserve further explanation. However, they have stated that it isn't a cut and dry issue and to contact them. They said they will take care of anyone with flat cans and are choosing to handle it that way instead of just pulling a bunch of product that they don't know is good/bad.

FWIW, I emailed them as they requested just to send a few pictures to alert them, even told them I was in FL and these had been shipped down (I didn't buy them personally) - and they went overboard with a swag package to me! So don't sweat it. Buy your Abrasive fix and if they are bad do as they asked and you'll be taken care of.

Also, how exactly do you know "low carb cans are still in a number of liqour stores for sale at full price"? You can't tell until you crack them. Are you assuming all cans dated a certain date are all flat? Cheers!

You can tell...you just have to squeeze the can...I have one unoppened in my fridge and its pretty obvious...my point is how do customers know to contact them who don't frequent beeradvocate

What do you usually do when you have a non-satisfactory product? I don't know about you, but I usually call/contact whoever made the product. It doesn't take a message board to let your voice be heard. I think we found out from Omar that a lot of people were letting their voices be heard on here, but no one had said a peep to Surly directly.

Let's be a little more realistic perhaps? I mean, when I actually emailed Surly (as they requested in this thread) they quickly replied, apologized, said they had only heard from a couple of people (really BA's?!?!) and were going above and beyond to make me happy (even though I stated I was happy and my flat Abrasives were still great). *I'm forever a Surly fan now.

So you expect them to pull all product because of a couple reported instances? Or ask the stores, distributors, or Surly reps to go and squeeze each can out there?! This isn't Toyota ignoring a brakes problem here...

I'm with you on going above and beyond for customer service (which I think they are doing here) but taking a big financial hit just because someone on a forum is reporting all sorts of flat cans out there is a bit...extreme, no? Not to mention most people in this thread have reported only a flat can or two in their 4-packs. Why can't they just take care of people as it comes up so sporadically?

They are not going to conduct a massive recall on a product with sporadic issues; that would be a terrible business plan.

Does anyone know when France44 adds Abrasive to their online inventory? I have missed it the past few times.

IMO Surly @GaryNicholas is going above and beyond to take care of issues with under carbonated Abrasive ,they have asked you to contact them with your personal issues they will take care of you, complaining on this site is going to do nothing, ive had both 01/23 and 02/06 Abrasive they are superb the 01/09 that i had was never flat but is was under carbonated

I wish there was a site called Pizza Advocate. I had a subpar pizza (at a joint that will remain unnamed for now) and need a forum to tell me what to do about it. I thought about talking to the server or the manager- or even emailing/calling the establishment for resolution, but need reassurance and recommendations about what I should do from a forum of people (most of whom I do not know). Honestly, if there was Pizza Advocate, maybe the manager would be on there and I could rant and rave while airing my mostly isolated complaints about their pizza, with the hope that he or she would see my complaints when I tagged him or her and respond accordingly. Until Pizza Advocate exists, I guess I will just have to keep my opinions on my actual experience with said pizza joint to myself, instead of doing the logical thing and just contacting them directly.

I've drank about a 4pk a day since it's been out and have had no problems. Except not being able to get it on Sunday.

I will second this... they have been so responsive when I contacted them. I cannot say enough about how much faith I have in their brand and standing behind their product based on what I have seen. IMO, any systems of this size are bound to have unanticipated issues. It's how you deal with them that makes a great company and I think they have done a fabulous job.
