Unintentional sour? That's the worst type of sour.

I could care less if it is intentional or not, as long as it is good. I have had some really good unintentional sours.

It's not "good unintentional". My buddy brought one over the other night. It was a throat pour.

That is a matter of opinion. I saw someone on the FB thread that said they loved it. Kuhnhenn made a rauchbier a while ago that soured in the bottle. Most people thought it was bad, but I actually thought it worked really well. I am looking forward to trying it, but wont be afraid to drain pour it.

Griffin Claw and Arcadia have been bottling sours lately.

Question- Had you already bought it before you heard rumors of it going sour in the bottle? If so, would you have gone and bought it after hearing it went sour in the bottle for 8-9 bucks a bottle? I'd wager no.
No one should buy this beer out of principle alone. If it says sour bourbon scotch ale then fine, but we all know its bs. There was no Bourbon flavor either BTW, all vinegar and general disgustingness

The Livery's sour program has been pretty great lately and it's gonna keep getting better.

Kuhnhenn's Play in the Hay series are all very tasty, when they feel like brewing it. I really hope they do more soon.

I might have. People pay more for good sours. It can be a blessing or a curse. Good if it works for the beer, and it is probably selling for less than sours generally do. That very thing happened with a goose island belgian beer. I believe it was Matilda. People were trying hard to get the infected version after GI recalled it.

Drink it and tell me how wrong you are about it being good. Haha, anyway, hope you enjoy it! Is there anyone else who's had this sour mess who cares to chime in?

Kuhnhenn Duvil in Ms Jones I believe unintentionally soured in the bottle as well - I liked the sour bottles better.

I've had Loch-Up on tap (in early December) at the BC location and bought two bottles. The beer in the tap version and in one of the bottles (drank in January) has a butterscotch flavor, but no sourness. I have not opened the second bottle yet.

I am assuming this is directed at me. I never said I liked it. I have never had it. I am generalizing unintentional sours. Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean other wont like it. I think Duchesse De Bourgogne is vial, but others seem to like it.

As far as arcadia goes, if they knew about it before they released it, they should have made it clear what it was. If it happened after the fact, they should accept returns. There is no excuse for not doing one or the other.

Rodenboch(sp?), lindemans cuvee rene, Duchess De Bougogne,Petrus, Arbor sours, jp sours, White birch berliner/blueberry berliner, and Anderson Valley Highway 128. These are about all the easy ones around here, but the white birch will probably disappear soon, and the arbor stuff is sporadic.

If you can find New Belgium Le Terrior or La Follie, they are both tasty as well.

It sounds like we won't be getting any more regular AV Gose for a while, just the Blood Orange version. Heard it from two store owners, but they didn't know why or for how long. Said it might just be a SE Mich distributor thing. Anyone hear anything about this?

I have not heard, just saw some reg today. I have not seen the blood orange. How does the Orange compare, have you had it?

I heard the same thing here in West MI. The store owner thought maybe the regular AV Gose was being retired and only the Blood Orange version would be brewed going forward. He didn't sound too convincing, but that's what he told me.

Where are you? I'm in A2, and the Blood Orange is everywhere, haven't seen the regular in a few weeks.
I heard this from a store owner too, but he didn't seem to believe it himself, figured his distributor misinformed him. I looked at AV's website and Facebook and did a general Twitter search, no mention of it being retired. I really hope it isn't, as I like it much more than the Blood Orange.
