I'm fairly positive that the Hardywood GBS was the BBA version, not the regular.

Im 50/50 on the 21st. Got a birthday party in the west loop at 7 so i might be able to come by for a while, but no marathon like the last one.

@AndyEdgar, yea I don't "think" this one will be a marathon. I hope you can make it for a bit. We will make sure to open the ones you want to try when you are there...

How is everyone else feeling about the 21st?

I will definitely be by for at least a couple hours. For a theme, I would say anything except all big stouts. I will be at Goose Island stout fest on the 14th, so I am not sure I would be interested in drinking 20-30 more stouts the following weekend.

Haha, I hear ya! I have a few sours from HF (Nortic Saison, Dorthy and Brasserie De Blaugies) that I can bring. I do want to break out the Bell's Expedition 10 year vertical sometime soon though...

I have to got to a baby shower at 4 on 3/21. :astonished: If things end up getting started a little early like they did last time, I may pop in for an hour or so, but I wouldn't be able to stay much past 3 and will have my car with me so I'll have to be somewhat responsible in regards to my consumption too. It'll be a game time decision. I've got a Baller Stout in the cellar that I'm thinking has probably peaked. Every one I've had up to now (I think the last one was last year) were delicious. That beer was a little hot when they first released it, but really benefited from some age, IMHO.

I'm at the Extreme Beer Fest in Boston the 20th so probably out for the 21st. I'm cool missing this one if the 21st works best for everyone else

I was hoping that these don't need to be epic every time and that we can just share bottles that aren't in Chicago distro. Let's keep the 21st (for now), but make sure the next date is one that works for more people. @AndyEdgar @fatdeets and @Canada_Dan, how does your month of April look?

My daughter's bday is on 4/14, so I'd imagine one of the surrounding weekends will be a gathering of some sort although we don't have anything planned yet. Then I have a concert in the evening on 4/25, but I could still make that work.

First weekend of April is Easter, I will be out of town for that. Otherwise I am available all month.

Mach 7th is still an option if we find another venue for this one.

On another side note, I know we are gonna do more pedestrian beers for the next share, but I also wanted to gauge peoples interest on another thing I have been wanting to do. I have been sitting on some big BA stouts for a while, debating on whether to drink them or trade them. The best idea I came up with, was to have a small bottle share of big time BA whale stouts. Everyone would bring one bottle, 8 people total, 2 of which would bring the same bottle (for volume reasons as shown below). This way, people that have maybe one or two of the bottles could try them all and then determine whether or not to pursue getting the others, trade the others they have, or drinking them by themselves.

Here is what I have come up with for I would think would be acceptable bottles for this kind of share...definite debate anticipated
    1. Three Floyds - Bourbon Vanilla Darklord
    2. Toppling Goliath - KBBS
    3. Toppling Goliath - KBBS
    4. Perennial - Barrel Aged Abraxas
    5. Cigar City - Double Barrel Huna
    6. Goose Island - Nutulhu
    7. Goose Island - Rare
    8. Toppling Goliath - Assassin

Others that could possibly be a substitute but I think are just a step below the above list:

Westbrook - Double Barrel Mexican Cake and other barrel variants, Apple Brandy SBMP
Toppling Goliath - Vanilla Bean Assassin (was this even bottled? if so, it moves to the top list)
CCB - Apple Brandy Huna, other BA huna's
Three Floyds - Other BA darklords, Murda'd out

Anyway, if any of you have any of these bottles and would be interested in this kind of share, hit me up and lets start a separate discussion. I have a couple bottles from both lists so depending on what others have I can adjust what I contribute.

It would be interesting to see if we can fill this out. I am in with a Three Floyds - Bourbon Vanilla Darklord!

If we have a venue for the 7th I should be in. It's the Saturday after my wife's birthday and we might have plans...

I could do the 7th no problem. As far as April goes, I'm pretty open other than the week of CBC (4/12-4/19) when I'll be staying in Portland.

Just got back from Colorado last night. Brought 3 750s from Casey Brewing & Blending. He's putting out some awesome stuff and I would love to share so keep me posted on the March tasting date.

The wife is going to murder you! She was wanting to sell that so badly (don't let her!).
