@PG2G I haven't yet but I'm sure I will. Am I the only one who thinks a third "brand" is a horrible move?

 

IMO, Those prices are all terrible..... Jeeeeez... In CO, We had FW18 for $22-23, haven't seen track 10 yet, but track 8 was $14 when it hit, and most of the Eclipse variants are all $29.99 shelf turds (great beers, just super expensive)...

Interesting... they're only going to make 4 IPAs, each released only once a year... hmm, not sure what to think about this one...

 

Yeah, San Jose does -not- look like a place for great prices. Though I'm sure it hurts a lot that the places I'm going are right downtown and do onsite consumption as well. I've never had Eclipse, so pretty sure I'm paying for the lazy factor for not going to a place further out.

And they have Track 8 as well, $17 also. But i have that at home from a prior CA trip.

 

I heard from an employee at Lost Abbey that Citrus/Piney is the one to get.

Looking at the hops being used, I can't wait for Tropical/Juicy.

 

Just picked one up here today too. It must be seeing distro because we got it in Illinois...

 

Track 10 ranges from $15-18 down here (was $16.49 at BevMo). Eclipse is pretty much always $30 here though.

 

They all sound pretty good to me. Kinda tempted to pop tho one open and see how it is

Because... why not? Pretty good but not mind blowing, think some of the later releases will be a better match for my ideal flavor profile.

 

I'd agree. Drinking it on draft right now. Its definitely good, but not blowing my mind. Maybe having it right after Duet (for the first time) isn't fair?

 

I am from California and can get this beer all day every day, for the moment... ha I'm bummed this beer is a seasonal, I'm actually sippen on one right now. If anyone is looking for this beer I would be willing to trade for some stuff I can't find out of CALI!

And since you haven't had Eclipse before, the Futures tend to go for $20-$25 instead of $30. I'll drop you a line when it is Futures time if you're interested. Also, Eclipse with age is world class... fresh its just all right.

 

Where are you in San Jose? Which places did you visit?

Aging won't be an issue. I just found a handful of 2011 Barleywines... Not because I meant to age them, rather because I just lost track

 

In San Jose for a couple days for a tech conference. Stopped by Market (waaaaaaay overpriced), ISOBeers (much better prices, but still painful), and Original Gravity (awesome sausages and duck fat fries, no bottles, which probably is a good thing).
