Where do you go for your beer...

@utopiajane, you must live right in or around Ithaca. I've heard of all of those places and plan on visiting them next time I come up to Ithaca.

 

Granby liquors is really there for the blue-collar working crowd, but they do have a small beer selection that is always good enough if you are driving by and want to pick up a 4 or 6 pack of good beer. Btw, lowest price of Three Philisophers I have seen ANYWHERE is at granby liquors. $7.50 a bottle.

Coopers corner in Florence has a pretty good selection of bombers that sometimes table and vine, or the spirit haus doesn't have.

 

I'm in northern Baltimore. I shop at Total Wine in Towson for good selection of widely available beers at good prices, and Shawan Liquors and Pinehurst Wine Shoppe for harder to find beers.

 

From the greater Seattle area I frequent a couple places and use an online club too.

1) Special Brews - Lynnwood, WA

2) Bottleworks - Seattle, WA (Wallingford neighborhood)

3) Tavour.com - based in Bellevue, WA

 

In ithaca and you holler my way when you get close and we will go drink a place dry =)

 

You ever been to Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge?

 

Binny's in Northern IL & Woodmans. They always have a good selection.

 

Mostly local Mom n Pop shops rarely will I got to TW, WF, or BEVMO.
Favorite local store is Liquor Express

 

Not in Montgomery County, which borders NW DC except for 3 individual stores that were grandfathered in from some old law.

Since I lived here most of my life, when I go elsewhere it is actually cool to me that there is a beer aisle.

Once again, someone on this site points out how lucky I am where bluelaws are concerned. About the only onerous thing locally (aside the beer culture being merely pretty good compared to the awesomeness of the west side of the state - not even talking about Portland) is that I can't buy beer between 2AM-6AM (or is it 7).

At least you don't live in a dry county - The Horror... I'd flat out move, I've no time for that level of local nonsense.

 

Bottleworks was my first full-on beer store experience and will always have a place in my heart.

 

You live in a part of MA that has a Wegmans? They're putting some nice beer selections in from what I've been hearing.

My Favorites around the North Shore/Boston Area:

Redstone Liquors--Stoneham, MA

Quality Liquors--Salem, MA

Bogie's--Beverly, MA

Kappy's--Best in Malden, ok in Peabody

 

Lake Liquors in Morgan. Only place I'll buy beer around here, other than bars.

 

Oh I forgot to mention - gas stations and 7-11 NEVER have beer. So that is always cool to see too.

 

I'm in Western Mass as well..... Spirited is within walking distance and has an incredible beer section and I frequent Trader Moe's the retail version of Moe's Tavern in Lee, MA

When in Las Vegas, the places to go for retail beer are:

Khoury's Fine Wine & Spirits (despite the name, they have a great beer selection)
Total Wine in Henderson, NV (suburb of LV)
Whole Foods on Las Vegas Blvd. (check out my boy Chris B. there, he'll hook you up!)
