We'll be there again, tickets or not. Will do some walk up trading and probably have a couple set up again. Already starting the Pliny buying (some won't be as fresh but since it's limited bottle count when we get it, etc). Me? I'll stick with Zombie on draft and share a bunch with whoever stops by the car.

If we can score tickets, me and two buddies will be driving up with a trunk full of Texas goodness. Our hotel is booked and we are ready to roll. It will be our first time up so any suggestions from BA's on where the shares will be (other than the Hampton) and other must go to places in the Chicagoland area would be appreciated.

Check out 18th St. Brewery in Gary, IN. Don't be scared that it's in Gary, it's a decent part of Gary and they are putting out some world class beers. It's a must stop.

Problem is the Hampton books up 11 months before tickets go on sale, so if you are going to properly plan this one the cart has to come first.

It costs nothing to drop most hotel bookings so why not book early.

I'm totally aware of this and the problem with that is when people book their room at the Hampton and don't get tix, they try and trade away their room for beer and/or DLD tix (not everyone does this but a LOT of ppl do).

Last year there were a bunch of General Admission tickets, and I don't think they were that hard to get - granted they didn't include any Dark Lord allotment, but nonetheless, they got you inside the gate, and that in and of itself is worth it.

The official site's had a few updates:

    http://darklordday.com/

The FAQ makes the April 25 date official (not that there was much doubt); also says that tickets will be $40 and the 2015 allotment will be four bottles. And the new theme art is great.

Upping the cost to $40 and I have to assume nothing is included in that. Getting ridiculous.

I noticed no mention of general admission tickets. Thoughts?

The 'Tickets' page makes mention of general admission tickets.

$40 to pay cash for all my pours and to pay more cash for bottles?

They took the "can I bring my own bottles" question off the FAQ. I wonder if they are still working out that detail with the police.

    Quick recap regarding ticket prices.

    April 30, 2011: $10 each ($25/pair after fees)
    April 28, 2012: $15 each ($37/pair after fees - increase of 48%)
    April 27, 2013: $30 each ($69.40/pair after fees - increase of 88%)
    April 24, 2014: $30 each ($75.78/pair after fees - increase of 9%)
    April 26, 2015: $40 each (assuming $95.78/pair after fees - increase of 26%)

Let's just get this out of the way and save the space for the standard questions that people can easily look up here on BA, such as...Are there going to be on-sale at the pub/Will they still have variant X if I'm in Group D/What are the variants/Can we bring bottles inside/What is going to be on tap/If I get there at X, where should I go first/Will they have Zombie Dust on sale/It's my first time to DLD and I know I can look this up but <insert question here>?:

    "It could have been worse."
"If you don't like it, don't go. More tickets for <insert group/person/state/beer geek here>."
"They could charge as much as they want and people would still pay."
"It's still a great deal considering X, Y, Z bands will be there."
"Not worth it for me, I'm out this year."
"I hate FFF, I'm never going back, this is ridiculous."
"I love FFF and don't care how much it costs."
"It'll still sell out in 2 minutes or less."

Think that should just about cover most of the praise/complaints. Carry on.
