I see how this can be assumed, but, it's far from being "bad". It's just on the lighter side of the other BA offerings. Doesn't have the heat that all of the others are packing which can be a good thing for some. There were a couple people I talked to last night who ranked 3106 as their favorite.

Originally, in my younger days of craft beer consumption, I liked the balanced BA brews. Only cared for those that had real subtle heat to them. But over the years I've come around to really liking the heat and actually preferring it. 3106 doesn't have that. Foolish Angel and Twisted Trace does. Every year Twisted Trace gets better and it's easily slid into #1 for me. My personal favorite.

I will be honest, I thought project was a good beer, but it wasn't the same beer as last year. I bought a growler of it expecting it to be something else and it wasn't which is why I am trading mine. It just doesn't pack a punch like the others, but that doesn't make it a bad beer.

last years 3106 was a perfect balance of bourbon chocolate and fruit the BA never dominated this brew but complimented other components it was darn near perfect ,this years has less BA presence IMO but still a very good brew, also if you get it as part of a flight twisted jim or buffalo bock will overpower 3106 with their BA

Although it's definitely different from last year's, I still love 3106 (so much so that I am trading for more). I wish they hadn't gone from Belgian Brown to American Brown, though.

Just had all six including Czar Jack (the afternoon releases were not available yet) and my favorites were Buffalo Bock and Foolish Angel, in that order. This was my favorite year of Buffalo Bock so far.

Czar Jack seemed to be the weakest I can recall in the past 5 years. Almost no barrel character, but still pretty good. Twisted Trace was solid but didn't like it as much as my top 2.

Brown label stealing the damn show.

Agreed on all accounts. Foolish angel and brown label were the highlights for me.

So just had a Twisted Trace Growler Explode.... Was sitting on the kitchen counter for about 4 hours.... No flux in temp or shaking of the growler...

Does anyone know if they will have a Beechwood aged version?

Heard similar responses from 2 people at the bar today. Got a leftover pour from some idiot that claimed he already drank 3. This beer, imo, sucked balls. Tasted like chalky tobacco. Can't believe people were actually hyping this dog shit up. Once again, just my opinion and who the hell am I anyway???

I'm slightly regretting not getting one, but at least I got to try it. Best of everything I had yesterday. 3106 was disappointing, and Czar had way more char flavor then I remember. Buffalo Bock good as always too.

I was shocked at how many people were there. Just last year I went early on Saturday and had a quiet lunch with a CJ and 3106. The Star Tribune pumped it up pretty good, so maybe that explains it. I remember Twisted Trace being richer than what I tasted yesterday and Brown did nothing for me despite my guy @Lonecrywolf recommending it. I'd need a lot of water between sips to finish a glass.

No. What you needed was an '07 Darkness to complete that vertical. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds like you're the guy who drank sloppy seconds from a guy that had a chew in his mouth...but what do I know.

Lol, I liked it too. My wife rolled a one, so I got a growler too.

Foolish Angel was ridiculous though. I've never tasted something like that before.

Hyping it up? lmao. I didn't even get a growler of it so why would I try to hype it up?

The dude you probably got a pour from probably didn't even know what he was drinking if he had already had 3. Maybe you didn't get what you thought you had? And if it was brown label and you didn't like it, that's okay. Not everyone is going to like every beer. But there is no way in hell that that beer had any chalky tobacco flavors.
