$5 pours (and big pours, at that) for those 3 was a steal. I'm not a big fan of coffee-flavored beers, but Cacao Bender was pretty damn solid. LP taproom is always a pleasure to hang out in, and this time was no different.

My only regret is that I had plans for dinner so I only had time to stop in for a couple quick drinks. Also, there was a lot of beer to be bought, which was a pleasant surprise for a high-profile Chicago release (I always expect the worst).

Nice job by Adam and co., as usual!

If it wasn't for a 6:30 Blackhawks/Red Wings start time, I would've had time to get up there and back downtown for the game. Alas, I regretfully missed the boat.

I'm headed to the auto show tomorrow - any chance I'll find Abrasive or Doomtree at Binny's Shaumburg or South Loop?

Given the comments on turnout, any chance it'll still be on draft/available to buy from Binny's L.P. this evening? I'll brave the cold if I have a shot. Sorry if it's a dumb question - I don't usually chase down rare beers (beside BCBS), but would love to try Cacao and Abrasive.

If not, I have a bomber of Ninja vs. Unicorn that's calling my name.

Abrasive is getting around. Easily found a couple 4-pks at my regular in Evanston tonight.

May the Surly Abrasive flow through Chicago like the floods that will be created if/when the snow melts if/when the temperature exceeds 35 degrees.

Great beer, one of my favorites. I'm back in IL this week, it's crazy how limited it is around Northern, IL. Up in MN there are cases upon cases sitting at my local liquor store. Dates i have been finding in IL at the local stores is 2/6/15.

My wife and I were able to get a couple 4 packs at Standard Market today in Naperville, and it sounds like the Glen Ellyn, Plainfield, and Naperville Binny's are all expecting their Abrasive on Tuesday. I didn't see any Doomtree. The abrasive cans I got were all 2/06/15, and they are amazing! The aroma and flavor on this years brew are huge. Great stuff!

Plainfield sold out yesterday, as did Bolingbrook.

I saw that about Plainfield! I wish I could have grabbed some, but I didn't realize they had it till it was gone, I assumed they were gonna be Tuesday along with Naperville. I've been able to grab some around some smaller liquor stores too, but several I've been to have two CAN limits, I think I've been able to get about 12 cans total. Gotta stock up while I can, I love this stuff!

Doomtree is "OK" at best and Abrasive is phenomenal as always. However, 17.99/4pack is pushing the boundaries. Don't think I would've paid that much for Abrasive.

Tip: Plainfield and Bolingbrook are typically on the same delivery schedule as each other. Naperville is different.

The equivalent of a $6.19 bomber is too expensive?!? Even if they were 12oz cans that's only a $8.25 bomber. Not trying to tell you what to do with your money, but that's a steal for a beer you just called phenomenal.

Not when you can get it for 14.99 or 15.99 (I understand not everyone can get it for that price but I did) and the fact that the price of this beer keeps going up every year just like Hopslam and other "bigger" releases. I guess that's just the times we live in.
