Reindeer Tears - buffalo brewery

People who don't know what beers are supposed to taste like will rate it high because they don't know better. People who bought several bottles of the beer to trade will rate it high to inflate its value.

And then there's assholes like me who didn't buy it, wouldn't have bought it and stumbled into a pour of it and have nothing to lose or gain by being honest about it. I gave it a 1 and feel like I overrated it.

Edit: not to sound pretentious with my first comment but there's a lot of "support local" involved when people rate Buffalo Bayou highly.

If the beer sucks...then the beer sucks. Say so. To me, if anything, people should be more critical of something that is harder to get, is more expensive, and the brewery is passing this off as rare/special. On top of which, from what it sounds like, has really bad flaws.

Edit: Just to add to the general tone, not pointed at one person specifically. Why don't the people complaining that reviews are so off, write one or tick it on this site?

So is it sour, or is it tart? Is it infected or is it just the whiskey barrels?

 

I mean... I haven't tried this beer, but there is no reason for whiskey barrels to impart any kind of tartness.

 

Why are you apologizing to me? I don't use untappd for reviews - the reviews are often horrible. And it's untappd, btw. No 'e'.

So if it's tart it's infected? You don't need to see any biological analysis to know that?

Whether it's specifically "infected" or not isn't really relevant. It's pretty clear that this beer was not intended to be tart or sour, nor was it marketed as such.

 

I ask because I made the claim that was infected and I was asked for biological proof. I'm just wondering if there's a way to prove that it's infected despite the fact that it definitely is.

Owner says they have tested it for infection and ph levels and says not infected.

 

So it's suppose to taste like that? How is that better?

 

And the owner can say whatever he or she wants
