Reviews for the day:

Decent vanilla porter. Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, toast, toffee, and light nuttiness with a slight herbal hop note. Weak but pleasantly balanced. Taste of milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, light cocoa/nuttiness and a slight herbal hop note. Minimal bitterness on the finish, but not cloying sweetness present. Decently robust, and doesnt feel watery. Mouthfeel is thin, but there is some light creaminess present. Not too bad, I definitely enjoyed it a good amount. Pretty toned down for a 6% porter, but the flavors were right around what I expected.


A great IPA all around. Bright aromas with grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, mint, and pine; with herbal/grassy hop earthiness an a touch of bready malt in the back. Really pretty dank. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, orange peel, pineapple, citrus rind, mint, and pine with herbal/grassy hop earthiness a light cracker/bread malt. Nice sized pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Really great hop complexity with a light malt presence for a bit of balance in there. Very crisp and sticky finish that lingers for a while. Never cloying. Very unique in hop flavors while still remaining super citrusy overall. Well rounded and delicious.


Really nice BSDA. 2012 vintage. Aromas of plum, pear, apple, fig, and raisin with some brown sugar/caramel/toasty malts and light peppery/earthy yeast. Weak on the aromas, but pleasant; a bit overly fruity and lacking malt depth. Taste is much better: big raisin, plum, fig, date, apricot, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, light chocolate/nutty, herbal, light peppery yeast. Light earthy peppery yeast spicy finish. Great balance and complexity of deep malt and fruity yeast character. Zero cloying sweetness with a moderate-full bodied mouthfeel; with some nice creaminess and a touch slick. Very smooth sipping for 10% with some fairly small warming on the finish. Delicious stuff. Really lovely complexity all around in flavor. Very well done.

Finished my KBS stash, finished my Old Stock stash. Damn! I love beer! Great ending to a day that ends in Y! Who knows...this might not be the last...?

 

Had this Sunday afternoon and again tonight - pretty solid DIPA. Yum!

Next up; Gigantic Ginormous Imperial IPA...

 

Seriously though, Minecraft instead of Spongebob and I could drive to California and back before he'd ever realize I was gone...its almost scary.

 

Might not be as good as the last batch I had but still a fantasic IPA. Wish I didn't have to drive an hour out to get this (not to mention the 1 bottle limit )

There used to be a pretty badass music video for this song on youtube but it doesn't appear to be there anymore...awesome tune though.

Clown Shoes: Vampire Slayer



They say all the greats are born in february. I am not sure how I got tossed in there but todays my B-day.
Finally able to kick back and celebrate with my furry daughter Freya, and some 2 year old vampire slayer I pulled out of the cellar.
