I like it with 8 mos - a year. The coffee mellows out, and that's fine with me.

This thread inspired me to purchase some new shelving and get my beer off my cellar floor. For your viewing pleasure.

Though I don't have a picture on me because I'm at work, I took a Boulevard Smokestack display rack home and put it in my closet as a "cellar". It's small, but my love.

Nice Bourbon collection Archibunkerjr. I'm sure most will be floored by the BT antique and family collections but some of the Parker's Heritage collections have been the most impressive and inspiring Bourbons I've ever had.

Thanks. I love every damn one of them. Most of those bourbon bottles I have acquired in Kentucky. I have found that bourbon is similar to craft beer in that the better brews/bourbons are kept in higher quantities closer to the source. If the brews/bourbons don't come to you... I'm quite fortunate to live in a great craft beer state like Michigan yet close enough to Kentucky to get my bourbon. My favorite time of the year is visiting the distilleries during the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.

lol. Your post reminds me of this last weekend. I told two buddies that I just organized my cellar and they wanted to see it. We ended up spending the rest of the night down there just pulling beers off the shelf. I don't have any chairs down there to make them comfortable but they didn't want to leave.

It's not about what you're drinking but who you're drinking it with.....OK, ok. It's definitely about what you're drinking but the company helps.

Had to do a recent reorganization to a different part of the cellar. Too much wine....

This shelving gives more space to see most of the different beer and a good way to estimate future need as I drink down different styles.

wow, some of you guys could open up your own mini markets with your collections lol

my (very) small cellar. got started a couple of months ago. Sadly, it will get even smaller as I drink the bottles that are unwaxed

Remember folks, waxing does zip zero nada in terms of aging for your beers! Of course, of you're just using the wax as a means of distinguishing "drink soon" bottles from "cellar" bottles, then that's another matter

I know that wax is permeable. Was a fun project with some of my buddies we did over a weekend.

im new to this as well and have just waxed everything, i had always heard that it will protect a caps seal from drying out or rusting. is that only for super long term storage?

It doesn't do much in terms of preventing oxidation but the benefits are:

It looks cool (if done properly)

It can protect the cap from coming loose over time or when being moved around the cellar.

Basically though it just looks cool.

Waxing is a process that makes beer...

    ...expensive.

The boxes came from Home Depot. Used chalkboard paint on most of them and the GF wrote out the style

Swortman25 - looks like you've got that gorgeous stash near your hot water heater and possibly the furnace? Do you do anything to regulate temps or does it stay cool enough (sub 60) in that area that it's not a worry?? Just wondering, because I've got the option to do the same thing myself....
