Anybody here get a chance to try this new DIPA from Grimm? It honestly blew me away, and I'm pretty sure at this point it's the best IPA to ever come out of New York State. Easily can stand up with the biggest and baddest IPAs from our friends in New England. Let me know your thoughts.

I'll be keeping an eye out for this!

    Pricing? $9.99/22oz?

Loved Double Negative, picked up a few to age. Hated Single Life (way too sweet).

Had it this past weekend at the Opening Bash for NYC Beer Week. I'm not sure if my palate was wrecked due to a ton of tasters in a short period of time, but I got a heavy onion taste from Tesseract. I know beers brewed with Summit can often be a bit oniony or garlicky, but I'm not sure if there's Summit in Tesseract. Just my opinion on what it tasted like to me that day.

With that said, I enjoyed it and would like to try it again. One beer that did blow me away that day was Threes Brewing's Superf*ckingyawn. Just incredible.

Draft only at the moment, so keep an eye out for bars tapping it!

Website says Mosaic, Falconer's Flight, and Citra.

Not sure exactly where they brewed this one, but I can assure you it was not in New York State. But I know what you mean :grinning:

Ah, okay, no Summit. Must have been my palate that day then. Although I've gotten that onion like flavor from IPA's with Citra too. Most notably, Citra Ass Down by Against the Grain.

Ah good point. It's the best IPA to come from people generally located in New York State, some of the time

As long as we're being precise about it.

Do you know some of their typical breweries they brew out of? I've always heard something in CT, but I don't know too much info about it.

I'm not sure. I know they've used a brewery in Massachusetts, but I don't know which. Also, I should add that they "homebrew" each of their beers at their place in brooklyn before traveling out to the host brewery, so I guess the beers are created in NYC.

They were using Beltway in Virginia and Paper City in Massachusetts.

had this on draft at cannibal and was very good. reminded me of fiddlehead's mastermind or the focal banger, and right up there with them in terms of hoppy goodness.

Hmmmm, love the name, and the beer is now officially on my radar.

The two Grimm beers I have tried have both been disappointing and overpriced, would be glad to have my opinion tweaked.

What did you have that you didn't like? I think they've dialed in things a lot better lately, the first few batches of stuff I had from them I wasn't super impressed.

I've liked most everything I've had from them, but I was really disappointed with Color Field

Tesseract was best of show at last night's Brewer's Choice event, IMHO.

I'd rank Tesseract alongside the best of what Other Half is making, and probably a notch above. Impressive stuff. Also tried Superf*ckingyawn recently and may be in the minority but I found it way too sweet, perhaps underattenuated. Threes Hereyago (new Simcoe/Amarillo pale ale) and Unreliable Narrator (another IPA) seemed better, really solid.
