Every once in a while I read through some blogs of breweries I either enjoy or am interested in. I've noticed Lost Abbey have almost disappeared from this site altogether. I read their blog on the 2014 Cuvée de TOMME and I must say that it is the most pretentious piece of um stuff I have seen. I can say no more except its a good thing that that their trying. If you have to explain for that length of time why your beer is struggling then maybe you should start over. Or maybe just suggest we drink it at 75 degrees to pull out the proper flavor you want your beer to have.

Isnt that what the internet and blogs are for? Explaining at lenght things that arent worth paying actual money to print? And i thought pretentiousness was a prerequisite for anyone who wanted to blog.

The words "troll" and "trolling" have lost all meaning.

Lost Abbey releases do get discussed far less than they used to (aside from DDG), for a number of reasons I suspect. Tickers have moved on, their production and distribution have increased which in turn decreased trade value, and there's far more competition in the sour and barrel aged strong ale categories. Considering how much of the conversation on BA revolves around trading or ticking, it's not a surprise that new releases of beers like CdT and Angels Share don't warrant discussion.

Anybody buy $6 bombers of Wipeout or Mongo anymore?
I like those beers, but there's so many other choices these days. I mean, their sister company Pizza Port is selling 6 pack 16oz cans of Swami's for $12.

Why pay 6 when you can get it on sale or at costco for less than 4?

I just picked up some Wipeout, Board Meeting & Ponto... never had them before, then again I'm up north

LAbbey is great, but yeah I'm probably like a lot of others who try it, enjoy it, then keep moving on trying other similar things that are new & shiny.. big fan of Almanac & RR, both of which are much closer to me. Now the Rare Barrel is in the house, and I'm hooked on Sante Adairius... competition in Calif is rough

I've really soured on Wipeout. Just doesn't hold up compared to other San Diego-area IPAs at all, plus plenty of better L.A. options now, too.

I just dont like the idea of Costco putting the beers out in the isle. I know the temp is cool being close to the refridgerated section, but still. . . . . . Had a bud pick up some Ritual ipa from Costco I believe and it had floties on the bottom. Still was okay. But drain poured the last 2oz. Maybe one day they will get it right.

I dont think the placement of the display is the cause of the floaties in the beer. It is not unusual for unfiltered beer to have sediment at the bottom.

You think the floaties are a result of being stored in the isle at Costco? This is an interesting theory and one I would like to hear more about.
