I haven't personally sampled it yet, but someone who's opinion I trust very much, enjoyed it immensely. He said the hazelnut coffee shines through.

Hey Matt, my opinion -- one of the worst beers I've had in a long time -- very disappointing given it's Founder's. It's a brown ale with artificial hazelnut coffee flavors (says so on the side of the bottle -- although it could just mean that hazelnut coffees have artifiicial flavoring added to the coffee, not really sure, but it's over-powering to be sure). I hate drainpouring beers, but this one was close... Sorry, just wasn't a fan, I couldn't really pick up any "beer" flavors, just overwhelming hazelnut. Either folks really like hazelnut or drank this brew with Founder's-colored glasses. Glad I picked up only one to try first...

I have the day completely free of work. If anybody has any leads on some bottles, that would be sweet. Thanks a ton!

I just got some at Big Top at Midway, they also have Devil Dancer. You have to ask for both from the beer guy, they're kept in the back.

I tried it. It is PURE hazelnut. Like overpowering. The coffee is there too. I just was not a fan. It was very strong and full flavored, but I don't like hazelnut that much. I'll be sending the rest of what I have to friends to try. No more for me.

    $11.99/Haskells

I tried the brew Tuesday with our monthly tasting group. I agree it had a lot of hazelnut but man it was tasty. I missed the release last week since I was out of town but managed to score a bottle at Surdyk's over lunch while I enjoyed my $1.00 sub from Jimmy John's today!!!

    Cheers!!

Very artificial tasting to me. Tasted like cheap coffee and really sweet hazelnuts. Though it does say right on the bottle its brewed with artificial hazelnut coffee. The first Founders beer I was not a fan of. Oh well, they can't all be winners.

Hazelnut bomb. Disappointing for me since it does taste so in your face.

Afraid I have to concur with the negative reviews - I thought this was probably the worst Founders beer I have ever had. It's probably my favourite brewery so I don't say that lightly, if it wasn't so expensive it would have been a drain pour. Overpoweringly sweet and artificial tasting, more like a coffee "creamer" than beer, I thought. Oh well, I guess even Founders can have a dud now and again.
