Does anyone know when Beverage Warehouse, El Segunso Whole Foods, or Plaza Market get RR deliveries? Planning on making a few stops today.

Just call them and ask when they get their deliveries. I do it all the time at spots I have never been to.

A lot in L.A. get on Wednesday mornings -- so chances are if you haven't left yet, you're already SOL.

Pliny bottles also typically MIA for a few weeks while PtY craze is going on. Checked Beverage Warehouse today and they haven't had any PtE in three or four weeks.

Dude, it's a hit and miss on RR goods. El Segundo WFs usually gets em in on Fridays. Use your phone and call ahead. You got anything to trade with you. I got a bottle or 2 of elder. Maybe Supplication too.

Thanks for such invaluable input...go away

why? isn't BA forum for this resource? If you were in the north east and asked this question I'd be more than willing to help you so you didn't have to call a dozen places. I'll still do that if you asked.

That makes sense, luckily for PtY and PtE on tap last night at Father's Office

I didn't bring anything to trade, but in my hunt I ended up with a '13 and '14 Pugachev's Barrel Roll No.3, a Track #10, and a 4-pack of Booming Rollers. Nice little haul to bring back to NY!!

And if anyone is in the NE and needs suggestion on bottle shops, delivery dates, bars, eats, etc hit me up on PM. Would be more than happy to lend a few suggestions and info so you don't have to waste time with lengthy leg work and phone calls

Can you really blame him? This is a question that gets asked a lot. In general, it's hard to come up with a simple answer as L.A. is huge and serviced by various distributing chains. What one store gets it on Tuesday isn't going to be the same as which other area gets it on Wednesday or Thursday. Whole Foods get their deliver on various days depending on its location.

Then you have to factor that it isn't an every week thing. Hell, not even an every other week thing. Sometimes it's 3 or so weeks till another drop off.

The suggestion to just call a store and ask is a lot better than essentially what ends up being a case of you asking others to do it for you. I get it's BA and all about helping out one another, but sometimes a little helping out yourself can go a long way.

Glad you found some beers to take back with you. Just as a note, we get the "where can we find pliny?" "where can we get RR sours?" at least once a week. Usually when a thread with the exact same question was still answered on the first page.

Unfortunately the answer of "calling ahead" is actually the best advice. Yes some places we actually know the delivery days but we can never say if they would get in any RR.

Just to try to give you some insight on some of the snark, RR beers are distributed in SoCal by Stone, however sometimes there are weeks when some spots get them and others don't or where there are simply no beers delivered, period due to supply. The delivery days are typically W-F, but it can vary. That's why people suggested simply calling the bottle shops in question, because the people working there probably have more insight than people on BA not signing for the delivery.
Edit: @Earlycsquid beat me to this point, but I'll leave it here for reinforcement.

I know each store has different delivery days, that's why I asked people that live here...RR is distributed by Stone Distribution, no? I'd be willing to get BW gets their delivery every Wednesday not some days Wed some days Fri, etc. Dist is usually pretty consistent.

If he didn't know or was annoyed by the question, why bother even entering the thread?

I wasn't asking for anyone to call and see if they had it today, just for input on stores that normally would get it today so I can cut down calling 20 stores, that was it.

Sorry for offending anyone with the question.

I also never asked "where can I find Pliny", just places that are known to have RR delivered on particular days. That was it.

@mike0802 Instead of being a dick you could search and see that like @SDReaper said this is a question that gets asked a lot. The reason I said call ahead is because you ALREADY narrowed down your list of bottle shops to 4 spots, not the whole LA area. Its a lot easier to call if you have these spots narrowed down already, like you did.

I would hope that if I was in your area and had a few spots narrowed down you could provide the best way to find the information I was asking, such as calling ahead. For example I have a friend coming in from Chicago area next week, I asked that area in the Forums for a list of bottle shops and said I would call ahead and see what they had. You already listed the shops you wanted and we provided the BEST way to find the information you wanted out.

Ps I hope you get skunked, as you most likely will and that you go home with a Ranger IPA.

Nothing like telling someone not to be a dick by being a dick you hypocrite. What a childish way to act lol.

It wasn't just about those 4 stores, just was saying that in hopes someone would be like "yeah, I know XX place normally gets RR delivered on Wednesday, call to find out". Different than saying "wahh wahh people ask this all the time". Never asked anyone to call. If you were in my area and asked if a particular beer is available I'd tell you when that beer normally shows up and at what stores. I didn't get skunked, got more than what I wanted to bring home, tried PtY for the first time, and got to partake in an insane RR tap list last night. People are so sensitive. Yeah, Ranger, there is something to pack up tight to make sure it doesn't break in transit.

That said, being a dick aside, if you are ever in the NE area I'd still be willing to help you out.

To the OP (and this has been covered by @SDReaper and others already), it's frustrating to see the same threads pop up each and every week, when a simple search provides answers pretty easily and doesn't litter the front page with "Where to Find Pliny," "Visiting SD" and "Visiting LA."

The secondary part of the issue is the fact that so many people come down to L.A. or San Diego looking for beers that are brewed in Northern California. We're virtually two separate states, with two (more, really) separate beer scenes. If you're in Southern California, there are a lot of excellent Southern California beer options for you to try (I see you picked up some Booming Rollers). If you're in NorCal, there's plenty there too. It's seen here all the time, and that's part of the exasperation -- would be like showing up to New York and asking about all PA beers. For an even more accurate comparison if we're comparing distance from LA to SF, it's like showing up to New Jersey and asking about North Carolina/Virginia brews.

For most, it's nothing personal against you (unless you shoot back with snarky responses). Just getting annoyed with the ongoing situation here on the Pacific forum.

I responded to snarky comments with snarky comments. I was in search for a simple answer to a question that didn't yield results in my search. If people are sooooo annoyed by it, just pass up the thread, no harm.

I was just simply looking for a hint and I would have done the legwork after that. Goodness.

Thanks to the people that responded and if you got offended by the comments, get over it.

Next time you're in search for a simple answer, perhaps the key there is to use the search feature.

What someone ought to do is create a "So You're Looking For Pliny" thread, that covers all the pertinent info, including the excellent points made by several BAs above, and ask @Todd to make it a sticky at the top of the Pacific forum.

This guy just won't accept that "calling ahead" is a legitimate, helpful answer.

I'm almost positive we had this at some point? Might be included in one of the LA or SD guides.
