I won't argue with the "average" assessment since it's subjective, but aside from De Garde, which of those breweries releases sours that are cheaper per ounce than the Bruery?

I'm not saying the beers I listed are cheaper or a better deal...just that the Bruery stuff is overpriced for what it is (average IMO)

You're entitled to your opinions, sure, but I was more referring to your claim that their sours are easily accessible. I live about 10 min drive away from the Bruery. Unless you're in RS or HS, or drink with someone who is, sours like the Wanderer and the SitR variants are not easy to come by (unless you know of some secret places that do sell them, I suppose).

Must be nice... I would buy as many Wanderers as possible for ~$20, if I could

Black Market 1945 Berliner Weisse is tough to beat on a $/oz basis imho.

As it's #1 fanboy, I'm contractually obligated to mention it.

The Tartare Rouge is killer, too. Those beers make me wish they would dip their toes into the sour pool more often.

If ease of access is the main objective, meaning it's distributed, and you can find it at a local bottle shop most of the time. I would think Rueze or Oude Tart are up there in terms of quality. Both age quite well. If we're talking just best West coast sours, then let the d**k measuring begin. I'm not saying Bruery beers are a great value proposition, but I never walk away thinking they cost too much. Which is a bad learning experience I had with Cascade, and which I always pass on now.

I'll drink Bruery sours over Cascade any day.

I can't believe Libertine Pub hasn't been mentioned. A great place that makes all sour beer.

California kids be all kinds of spoiled with the sours. Hands down best Sour State - Bruery, Barrelworks, Rare Barrel, Almanac, Russian River, Lost Abbey, SARA. All about the same price (with LA being the exception), 12$ (375ml) 22$ (750ml)

I'm looking forward to making it to their next release, it will be my first time trying them. So they don't quite fit with the "ease to find for me" part.

I recently had a pour of their Chocolate Vanilla Framboise and while it tasted pretty good, the nose was totally diapers, blue cheese, and vomit. Their X-Mas Porter was much better.
