Howdy folks. I have to attend some conference in April for three days at the National Harbor and have looked around and I have not found much on decent beer bars, stores, etc. I know DC has great choices but I will not have access to a vehicle. If anyone can suggest any places around National Harbor I'd appreciate it.

Perhaps consider using the metro system to get around. I believe you can take a bus to a metro station, and from there you'll have access to pretty much the entire city. From what I tell, figure on it taking you roughly an hour to get from the National Harbor to Churchkey and other "hot spots" in the Dupont Circle area.

    Good luck!

Have you had an opportunity to look at this: http://www.nationalharbor.com/consumer/home.htm

I'm not sure making the trip into DC with no car is worth it -- it's even a hike to cab it. I'd probably just stay in the Harbor area. I've heard good things about Cadillac Ranch and Bobby McKey's, as far as bars go.

The Potomac Gourmet Market has a beer selection comparable to a Whole Foods. I'd check there for sure. There's a good burger joint there, a steakhouse. I've eaten at Ketchup before, and it's not bad. Old Town is better, but you'll be fine if you can't escape the Harbor.

The funny thing is my brother in law lived in Dupont a few years back. I had fun at the Brickskeller besides it being a little "warm" in the place.

Besides Paradiso, Virtue Feed and Grain has a pretty good tap list, short walk from the Water Taxi as is Bilbo Baggins.
