Has to be a drunk post. I don't like seafood but still love Row 34; best curated tap list in Boston.

I thought I was the only one...

Also being in Medford you're a stone throw from Redstone. Buy your trillium there and save the time/gas and drink at home.

If you're in Medford, there's quite a few places in Davis that I like. Foundry on Elm, Redbones, Rosebud, Flatbread (with candlepin bowling!), and Five Horses are all pretty solid. You can also enjoy a beer while watching a movie at the Somerville Theatre.

Penguin Pizza in Mission Hill area is great for pizza and a wide variety of beer. Night Shift you should already be there.... other than that I echo Trillium to the cows come home

I don't completely agree but I have been there a few times and thought the lest was just ok. Granted, for that area it's great to have high end choices. But I can spend my money around the Boston area better. Again, only an opinion.

I think it's important to distinguish between a great list and great prices. I've been very impressed with the list itself, but the prices tend to border on the absurd. But, it is Fort Point and the it's not a cheap restaurant to begin with.

In the end - just be prepared to drop some cash for an excellent selection of beers.

I've gotten desensitized to prices living in the city for over ten years I guess. I only notice beer prices when they are very high (like the $10 pour of Mo at Merchant I saw last week) or very low (like the ~$30 bill at CBC for three amazing beers each for my fiancee and me last month).

Buy your beer @Trillium and save on the bottle shop upcharge.

CBC is always the best value in craft beer in the city. One of the (many) reasons I go there often. Row 34 regularly has $10-15 pours, but they usually offer a few beers in the $7-9 range.

I used to think this, but since I take the pike to get to Trillium and sometimes pay to park (especially lately with all the snow), it's a wash for me. Although bottle limits are always higher when you go to the source.

Point taken there. Between lack of parking and cold weather, it's the only reason I can think of why they still have the bottles available they do.

Redstone Andover will help, I'd pay a couple bucks more if I were in Andover vs. driving to the city.

Interesting that they are technically NOT in the city of Boston though, I always felt that helped keep the price down when we frequented.

True. I sort of count Boston/Cambridge and the surrounding area as part of "the city". It ultimately depends on the bar. Look at Mead Hall - just down the street from CBC and some of the highest prices in the area IMO.

Christopher's in Cambridge has 24 beers on draft all the time, including quite a local selection. Lots of great breweries to hit in the city, including Aeronaut, CBC, Trillium, Harpoon, Night Shift, Idle Hands, and Mystic. I would very much recommend going to Jack's Abby in Framingham as well (12 lagers always on draft, and lots of options for take-home as well). Slumbrew has a nice new location at Assembly in Somerville for food and beer.

Medford is very close to Night Shift, Idle Hands/Enlightenment, Aeronaught, and the Slumbrew Taproom at the assembly square mall. And Trillium is a must. Go 93S to exit 26 (Purchase St.), take a left, at the second set of lights a right then a left, you are there.

Cambridge, on average, has more expensive real estate than Boston, and the neighborhood CBC is in has been super hot for awhile now. I hope this doesn't eventually result in CBC moving.

Agreed, one of the biggest reasons we moved out of Watertown and the city itself. What we can buy for land/home up here is night and day back in MA. I actually want a yard and space.

A new spot called Brewers Fork just opened up in Charlestown. Check them out too. Their taplist is excellent.
