Is anyone else having a very difficult time locating Sea Hag in Central CT? It has been my go-to beer for years, and not being able to find it recently has been disappointing. I thought I had found my Sea Hag mecca at Southington Wine and Spirits when I first started noticing it being harder to find- the first time I went in there they had a few cases in the cooler. Worldwide right down the street also had it.

In the last few weeks I haven't seen it anywhere near Hartford. Crazy Bruces was out when I went on Tuesday, stopped in SW&S yesterday and they were also out.

Is this just increased demand, smaller supply, or distribution related? Anyone have any secret hideouts for Sea Hag anywhere around Bristol?

Is there a list anywhere of places that carry NEBCO's lineup?

    Thanks,
    Jesse

Kays Wine and Spirits had a bunch yesterday and Tuesday, with GBOT, as I picked some up yesterday. Not sure if they have any left as of today. On a side note they had some Back East Pallet Mallet yesterday as well, if you are a fan..

+1 for Kay's. I picked up the mixed six pack Tuesday evening. Not sure if they still have it now though.

I am not sure what the reason is, but bigger stores are getting smaller shipments. I stopped at coastal in branford recently. It was the first time i have ever seen them run out of sea hag. I believe one of employees said they only are getting 8 cases every two weeks, they used to get 15 cases every two weeks. I would guess it is higher demand.

I used to be able to walk into Manchester W&L a few times a week and buy a Sea Hag sixer, but I never see it there anymore. It's a bummer.

Treehouse cases can't come soon enough. Tried a couple places on my lunch break and came up dry.

So one of my recent trips to the brewery I heard the tasting room manager talking about how they were dialing back production and, in turn, cranking up production of Gandhi-Bot. The insane demand for G-Bot after the "scandal" probably forced them to step on production of Hag. Also, not sure if it's true, but word on the street is that Gandhi cans aren't going anywhere anytime soon because they still have a massive inventory of actual cans they need to fill and distro. I know this doesn't actually answer your question directly, but the point is there is probably less Hag to go around for the time being. And considering it only spent a day on last weekend at the brewery, I think it's a sound theory.

I really need to check out Kay's. Only 20 minutes from me. Maybe tomorrow.

It's still very rare that the shops in my area (Fairfield County) run out of Sea Hag but I realize that it's happening more frequently in other parts of the state. I think this can be attributed to NEBCO's popularity flying through the roof over the last year or so and also a higher number of smaller shops getting shipments, limiting the number of cases that the more popular spots are receiving.

I'd disagree with this. It is rarely on the shelves/coolers in Fairfield County. That is at least true at the places I go to that always used to have it. I am close with one owner who said it is very hard to get compared to in the past and case allotments are down when they do get it.

I guess we shop at different places.

I think it's definitely less prevalent in lower ffld county that it was a few months ago. I find that the big guys usually have it, but do run out which never used to happen. And they keep it in the back sometimes now, managers have told me that their shipmensave been about halved. But I certainly haven't seen an influx in Ghandi so Im not sure about that theory.

Yeah, definitely no influx of Gandhi!

It is definitely the higher demand. They stopped making elm city pilsner until their new brew system is set up (probably in the Fall). Should help the Hag, 668, and Gandhi Bot supply since they can make 3 batches of these in the same time it takes to make 1 batch of pils. Should hopefully see a difference in the next couple of weeks.

Southington wine and spirits had it today. They've been the most reliable for it in the bristol/southington area imo. Ended up picking up some backeast pallet mallet and now wish I gotten the hag.

I'm going to be driving from nyc to boston on sunday. Could anyone recommend a liquor store right of 91, 84 or the merrit parkway that would stand a decent shot at having either hag or ghandi bot?

I had a sense nebco was as hard to get as, say, trillium but it sounds like it might be a bit more attainable than I thought. Thanks for any info!

Trillium is super easy if you can find parking. What route are you planning on taking? You should be able to find some hag pretty easily. I will probably stop at coastal off exit 54 later, i will let you know if they have any.

Coastal does have sea hag. Just grabbed some pallet mallet and quetsche tilquin there. They just ran out of captains daughter but you might be able to find it at other stores. Their sister store in milford the wine and spirits co should have hag also.
