Founders Frangelic Mountain Brown in NC

I picked up a bottle at Bestway in Greensboro yesterday.Roger is keeping it in back.

 

Any word on the greater metro area of Hickory getting this??

 

I'm a super founders fan but this one was just ok to me. If you are into hazelnuts you will love it, I couldn't pick up much coffee behind the hazelnuts and sweetness.

 

Couldn't agree more. It tasted like an iced hazelnut coffee, but I thought it was way too thin for a brown ale. Im a huge hazelnut coffee drinker, but couldn't get over the artificial hazelnut flavor, would have been cool for them to use real hazelnuts.

 

I can't imagine what anyone would to do with a whole growler of it...make syrup for pancakes?

 

I had a taste of it on draft today at Grapevine before I got my growler. I thought it was balanced just fine, don't know if the beer is any different on draft or not. The keg stated a 9.3 ABV compared to the 9% on the bottle. I will probably drink the growler and just hang on to the bottles I have for a few months.

 

Now that's not a bad idea

 

I drank a whole growler from founders yesterday by myself for my engagement party.. the night didn't end well.. it was easy drinking and the abv snuck up on me.

Thanks Got engaged in december and was in grand rapids on monday to talk to my venue and vendors for wedding in september.. I got to pick up a growler from founders and pre drank it before going on a party bus that my parents got me and my fiance. The first stop was kuhnhenns and then to another bar.. the fmb snuck up on me and I called it a night by midnight and the rest of the party stayed out til 3..

 

Trevor isnt that your MO? Didn't you show up for a foothills release early and go to sleep before the doors opened while your better half showed you how it should be done! Again congrats!

 

I had a pint at grapevine Friday night. It was decent, but nothing out of this world. Drinking the whole pint was rather difficult...just so sweet.

 

Grapevine still had it on the growler station as of yesterday afternoon, and they had quite a few bottles on the shelf. Lil Robert's Place in Concord had some yesterday as well.
