On BW's Facebook page back on Jan 21:

Since so many of you have been asking about the 2015 beer calendar:

We'll put up a 2015 bottle release calendar some time in the next couple of weeks. However, because we've recently added some new fermenters and are working on Beachwood Blendery, putting together a complete and accurate list of everything we'll brew this year isn't possible at this time.

The good news is that we'll give you plenty of notice on special releases--and more capacity means more of your favorite Beachwood beers will be available on draft more often.

So it will come eventually…….sooner than later.

    Fair enough.

When was the last time a limited Beachwood BBQ barrel aged beer was less than $25?

Never, which is why I've never purchased one. I might consider it in the future if they do an online release, but price as well as my rigid schedule's prevented me from getting any in the past.

All the beers pictured in your avatar are close to half that, also better than just about every other BA release.

Ah, thats what i was wondering. Ive only lived in SoCal for 3 years and I was wondering if they used to do limited BA beers cheaper.

Think we all know by now that Firestone walker is the exception and not the rule when it comes to pricing.

You can throw the bourbon counties and big bad baptist on that exception list as well. Its funny, the most inexpensive BA beers are also the best, at this point i see no reason to buy any BA beers outside of those.

Remy's Pappy is good trade bait. I had a bottle of the last batch and was not impressed with it...the body was too thin for my liking

yeah, go try and trade a bottle of Beachwood barrel aged stuff and you'll get crickets even though it's a 2 year winning GABF small brewery/brewpub. But the fact that there's the word Pappy on the label of that Remy and you got yourself something people spooge all over for. That's the main difference.

I'm sure if Beachwood aged in an overhyped barrel and announced it, then it would blow up like the fourth of July and people would gladly pay that $25 bones for it.

The fact is that quality oak barrels (that haven't been overused and reconditioned) are very expensive. One of the reasons why fine wines are so costly.

Do you guys seriously only buy beer to try to trade it away?

No, but that's a question you should ask the rest of the country as they try to get all these California expensive BA beers for nothing more than a song. That said, I think that $25 for these beers is too much for ones that aren't proven to be winners. It's often a crap shoot with these to see if it's worth it or not. I was buying them as they came out until Sadie, which I felt wasn't worth the risk given 8 buffalo wasn't all that and not worth the entrance fee to try.

I guess you didn't see all the people in the trade forum trying to unload their Kiwi Herman and West Ashley bottles when they released.

I thought I read somewhere that this second batch of Remy's Pappy was aged for 2 years. Regardless, this batch is supposed to be much better/thicker than the first batch. This is one of the main pitfalls of "ticking" or depending solely on ratings because batches will vary and a lot of times improve.

Not to highjack, but b2 Remy's Pappy has much better mouthfeel.

In Beachwood news, not sure how I feel about $25 for this release. May pass...

I envy you guys who live close enough to get to Beachwood. House taplist looks amazing right now.
