I would nicely explain to them why doing that is a bad idea. Craft tends to be relegated to the dark back corners of most stores, so it's not usually a problem. But yeah, if they refuse to move, I'd ask if they had any extra stock in the back.

Yeah, it's a huge shelf in a packed store, so I doubt they would move it. But next time I want something green I'll ask for it from the stored stock. Thanks for the advice!

Someone asked him in a thread on the old board. I believe his exact response was:

    "??? green bottle? i don't know bye other beer : -P :- P ????"

You envy us because we get beer that's not as fresh?

I think you misunderstood me. I'm placing myself in the US group, and saying that people like Zimbo (who live in the UK) are envied by me.

Lambics have almost no bitterness from hops (0-10 IBUs). It's the bitter hop isohumulones that are degraded by light to the skunky compound (3-methyl-2-butene-1-thiol). Low/no bittering = very low risk for skunking, even in green bottles.

The pesky green bottle is the only thing keeping me from splurging on one of those fancy new corked and caged Stellas.
