The current college scene is really into craft beer. I work with 10-15 students on a daily basis, some that recently turned 21 and most of them are into craft beer. Does it stop them from buying a rack of keystone, nope. But they do like the better stuff.

You can still find a lineup on a Thursday across the street at the riv, $1 burgers and $1 beers and that probably adds up to $2 food poisoning.

Also, although there are exceptions, a lot of college kids are having mom and dad foot the bill, so they have more money to spend on good beer. Not to the extent as that "other" school over in AA, but still happening.

That is a good deal. I'll have to remember that.

Want to just add: If you ever want to "divert" from the craft beer scene in EL, go to El Azteco for killer margaritas
Going there myself next weekend on my trip to Founders/KBS release:rolling_eyes:

I love the cheese dip there. In the summer the roof top is nice for lunch. We always go to spartan spirits next door too. Found awesome beers there on more than one occasion. It's not huge but they get all the releases.

I worked up in Lansing for a year and a half building a new plant. Horrocks is a good stop too if your on your way to or from GR. I think they have 40 taps for growlers or just drinking in the store

Used to be $6 which was so good. They upped it a buck but the burger is mostly short rib now and it is a bit better. At $7 it is still great.

Makes it so I don't explore the rest of the beer menu though since I stick to hose 20 with the burger. Luckily pretty good choices for the 20.
