Barleywines. I really like the ones I've sampled but I seem to go with the latest impy stout or DIPA before going with a barleywine.

Every time I try a barleywine or sour, I start to wonder why I don't drink more of them. Then I remember how much they usually cost, and I remember exactly why I don't drink them that often.

I'm kind of the opposite, Draheim. I almost exclusively (90%) stick to APA, IPA, Pale Lager, Amber (ale or lager), and Porter, all between 5-7% ABV. I might throw in an occasional low ABV stout, hef, and Belgian.

I'd like to try more "big beers" (BBA stouts, RIS, DIPA, Barleywine, Sours), but it has always gone against my anti-bomber, anti-750 buying principles, and I've historically been strapped for cash so that doesn't help. These days the bankroll is fine, but the buying habit persists. Honestly though, I'd be just fine for the rest of my life on my current rotation - something about that 5-7% range really hits the sweet spot for me.

I'd like to try more traditional European styles, with fun names that I can't pronounce. German, Belgian, French, give them all to me.

This, completely. Every time I have a really good pilsner or farmhouse/saison, I want more. Then I go back to reliables to save money, etc.

I need to get some more barleywines and Red Ales. Love the styles just never seem to make it into the cart. Maybe there isn't enough out there. Too many IPA's!

Weizenbocks. I haven't had one that I didn't enjoy immensely.

1 Properly cellared English cask bitters, appallingly rare in the USA. American bars also tend to be less conducive to relaxed, multi-hour, sessions of drinking and conversation but that is a separate issue.
2 Fresh German Hefeweizens, not so easy to find fresh stock.
3 Sours, cost and availability limit my consumption.

I'd have to go with Porters. I get so hung up on stouts I forget about them.

Amber Lagers and Doppelbocks. Everytime I a drink one, I kick myself for not buying more.

Used to feel that way about Helles Bocks and the like too, until Cultivator came along and now I drink it much much more.

Fruited sours. It's sad, I live in the same state as Jester King and still rarely get to try fruited sours.

I have the exact same issue. I buy too many cellar-able beers so I don't have to worry about drinking them right away. I need to buy more drink-now, flavorful, low ABV beers.

My styles would be Marzens and Vienna Lagers. Getting them fresh is the problem.
