Also on a serious note, real quick. What are the odds of bring able to land something nicer like the level of ba abraxas or assassin off of offering a case of 120 minute and a case of sucaba? I realize that the rarity isn't on my side, just the quantity. I have had opinions all over and i know I should just post and see but I like hearing from you guys? Help me out here with ideas if what it's worth in trade? I personally don't care for the stuff...

 

This is 100% my own $0.02 and I don't even pretend to speak for the general public trading wise, but using my own personal yardstick of "if I had side A, would I take side B for it" and vice versa, I would think you'll get crickets sheerly for the significant gap in rarity.

That said, it just takes the right pair of eyes; you find someone from IA or StL that really likes Sucaba and you could get lucky, you certainly aren't being shy on going over $4$.....

 

as i regliously view the trade threads i would say those w said beers wouldnt be looking for the cases. just my opinion though. doesnt hurt to try tho

Yah that's what I was kind of thinking, might have better luck offering a case of parabola instead? I am gonna mull it over for a few..

 

I think Parabola is probably a better bet than Sucaba, but the bigger problem, as @CTJman said, is that the people trading Assassin/BA Abraxas just aren't looking for those bottles in any quantity; odds are they traded a large volume of beer to get that bottle and if they're trading it back out it's probably to get something even rarer or at least very specific to their Wants. So if you get lucky and someone is in love with Sucaba or Parabola then it could definitely happen, there's no doubt it's a generous offer $-wise, it just will take a very specific set of eyes.

Absolutely no harm in trying no matter what, one guy I talked to was telling me that he posts up trade offers he knows are way off just to see what bites he gets, and he outlined a few ridiculously off-sounding deals to me. The way he was talking about it rubbed me the wrong way like he was taking advantage, but the point is that the vocal minority (or even majority) of traders don't account for every person who trades beer; it only takes one person to get it done.

Seeing the word Parabola thrown around reminds me, I have a 11/12/13 vert in my cellar and I still haven't tried the stuff. I know you guys said earlier to just break it up and drink it but I can't bring myself to do it. I was hoping to find a '14 to just crack but didn't find any last time I went to VA.

Maybe I should just crack the '13 and then bring the 11/12 to a share sometime? This is when verts become a problem and also when you realize your problems really aren't problems at all

Speaking of verts, I have an '11-'14 vertical of The Event Horizon coming in the next few weeks. Now, to wait 9 months for a 5 year vertical or drink the 4 year soon...

If I was able to resist joining @jdhowe in Atlanta for a vertical of FW Anniversary XI-XVIII, I can resist a 3 year Parabola vert that's almost as far away. Especially since i have '12 and '13 in my own fridge.

Granted mine doesn't go back as far as '11, and I'm also missing '14, but EIGHT years of FW? I honestly thought about that one for a minute.
