I wish there were more browns/ambers/reds that I liked because when done right those 3 styles are fantastic.

Whenever I drink the readily available German Beers I think that I should drink them more often. They have a very nice smooth taste, are not expensive, and require very little legwork to achieve the bottles

On your other point about drinking IPA's, Pale Ales first it is absolutely true for myself as well. I know the beer companies at first were somewhat resistant to providing bottled on dates (or best by dates which I hate. How about you let me decide when the beer is best buy companies. Green Flash a prime example but I'm guessing nobody really buys their beer anymore anyway.)but now I think they realize that the fresher the IPA the better and if someone buys a 6 pack of grapefruit sculpin bottled 12 days ago that they are more likely to take that down and repeat the purchase more quickly because the fresher the IPA the better

European style beers in general are something I wish I broadened my palette more to.

There is a beer called Ruddles County still being brewed by Greene King who bought out the Ruddles Brewery some years ago. It's OK (the Bros give it a 98 rating!) http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/203/1902/ but it's only a shadow of the old County. It's been watered down and brewed with Greene King's yeast strain which makes all their beers taste basically the same.
The brewer at Ruddles set up the Grainstore Brewery in 1994 and one of his beers is called Ten Fifty , all similarities between this and the old County are accidental of course.............

Dude I hear you! I've been letting a lot of the popular threads on here guide my buying habits over the past year and I find myself constantly going after the same types of beers based mostly on their rarity/seasonal availability. So a couple weeks ago I noticed a thread about appreciating subtler styles which made me realize my habit since I never seem to fully enjoy, say, a Belgian pale ale for its simpler but refreshing qualities. I decided to switch up my usual routine and now I'm focusing more on lower ABV saisons, Belgian pale ales, pilsners, and weizenbocks. I feel like a fool for skipping out on so much great beer in favor of focusing on whales.

Bootleggers Brewing Co. makes a Westcoast Style IPA called "Far Out IPA" one day I will go to the brewery and see if the brewer or anyone there is willing to share the recipe, and i will home brew it and that will be the beer i want to drink all the time. they stopped making it in bottles and it sucks that they did. but thats the beer/style i would drink more often.

I find that red ales are an extremely underrepresented and delicious style. Wish I could find more of those.

Sounds like you got to much money. LOL. If you can stock up a cellar, your flush as the kids used to say.
    kidding....your money.:grinning:
I am jealous of those that can stock up. almost no beer survives the month around me. unless I HIDE it from myself.:grimacing:
Nothing wrong with you period. next question?

more often: well Orval, and the Trappist of course. and many other belgian imports I cannot afford. its why I HB. waiting on my first attempted Orval clone as we speak, time will tell.:grinning:

Pilsners for me, although I give myself a pass somewhat considering the season. My problem is that both of the last couple times I've entered a store planning to buy a 12-pack of pilsners, there has been a SN Hoppy offering that has snagged my attention. Hoppy Lager the first time. 4-Way IPA the second time. Glad I bought both, but I can't count the number of times I've been looking in my fridge and thought, "I wish I just had a pilsner". Nothing is stopping me next time.

Stouts that are coffee forward. I really dislike coffee, so it's hard for me to enjoy any stout that has a coffee flavor.

I don't mind a slight coffee undertone to compliment a chocolate forward profile as long as it stays in the background.

I know I'm missing out on a lot of good stouts because the coffee distracts me.

Flanders Red, Gueuze, Berliner Weisse. Not too common on beer lists and too expensive to drink often.

Imperial Pilsners. I wish there were more of them, and I wish I had the opportunity to enjoy them all.
