Anyone here on Instagram? My younger brother is currently in a lacrosse stringing competition on there:



He's 14 but has his own stringing business (and does a damn good job, too). So far he's moved into the top 18, but the next round is only top 5 and right now he sits in 6th place. If anyone felt so inclined to go like his (@oldratlax) picture on the @stringleague page, it would be greatly appreciated. Top 5 come Friday will move into the Final Five:

I disagree with one point here (and haven't seen the last few episodes of SOA yet) ... The Walking Dead disappointed me in the VERY FIRST EPISODE. The entire hour there was only one thing I was thinking about, "when is that asshole gonna get eaten" and then he survives the whole thing! And from what I hear, he's still kickin around a few seasons later! What kinda zombie show is that?!?

 

I know... It's been melting though, which is a blessing and a curse.

I was in Vegas last week and felt like an ass when I was a bit chilly under 52 degree weather..

 

Haha well it does get pretty cold in Vegas during the winter and windy. Good to know its melting because I have too send some boxes that way in the next month or two

 

Instgram blocked at work so I spend the last 5 minutes trying to figure out what the hell stringing is.
I picked a hell of a week to quit drinking.

 

That's the problem, the show isn't about zombies. It's about the survivors and their stories. Your talking about Rick hahaha. As the story goes on he becomes more and more of a bad ass. Trust me!

++EDIT: The last few episodes of SOA disappoint on a whole different level, make no sense why Sutter wrapped up the story like he did, and makes me almost wish I never started watching the show.

 

a little late, but hey, i've been busy being out of town and then back for just a short time and now leaving again....

the first person i met in juneau was a former BA that i met for beers when i first moved in to town, and he's moving on to vermont in a couple days. so he came over for one last share the other night. we were both pretty beat, so we kept it pretty small, but put together a tasty little dark number:



and now, i'm about to hit the airport and head to so cal for a week. looking forward to drinking delicious ca beers by the pool.

and... i'm not going to check the thread until next tuesday. i'm sure there will be a million pages of you ******ed jerks to get back into reality with. that being said, when i get back next week i'm putting up the alaska-it-forward (and maybe a choice goodie from the ca trip) now.... just to think of a good contest....

OOF. Thanks for making me want to watch those episodes so much more... (it frankly is just hard to find 2 or 3 hours to watch a show at one time)... I felt the same about the final episode of How I Met Your Mother (ok, not a drama; but still, it pissed me off)

And I know his name is Rick, but the whole episode that's all I was thinking was "when's he gonna get eaten"... made it hard for me to come back for the 2nd episode, but as much as people love that show I know I will eventually.

In the meantime, if there's a single person not watching Banshee, you now have a homework assignment. Such a good fucking show. Season 3 coming to a close, already picked up for season 4, but start at the first episode, it'll be confusing as fuck if you don't (and as much as I still love it, the first season is my favorite)
