    ,but never thought that craft beer could be as bad as it has been reported. After having Double Jack, it doesn't seem so absurd. How is this brewery keeping customers?

    your barking up a pretty scary tree here. Double Jack is a pretty popular beer here.

    I was a rep for about a year for them. They sell a ton of Lazy Mutt, mostly to the BMC crowd. The lower end beers(yes, there is lower end) sell well to a certain crowd that likes 30-36 packs of 5-6% beer for ten bucks. Mountain Crest and Boxer fit that bill. They also do enough contract brewing to keep the lights on for some time.

    The taproom is quite enjoyable! One of my friends dad is the prez. at Minhas(gary olson). He gets all the free Minhas he can handle, can you even imagine?!?!?!

    Oh, I've had their Simpler Times from Trader Joe's. Yes, awful stuff - I'd rather have a BMC product because at least what flavor is there is muted.

    Yeah, awful is being kind. I picked up one of their new 'craft' bombers (Thumper IPA I think?) & it was undrinkable in the extreme. Fool me once...glad I only wasted $1.99.

    You mean Imperial Jack. Double Jack is an excellant beer from Firestone Walker.

    I wonder who keeps buying their beer. It is to the point where I will not even buy beer contract brewed there.

    Ooops, I guess I was trying to suppress my memory of the Imperial Jack. Tomato sauce is not an ideal flavor in a DIPA.

    The Boatswain DIPA sold at Trader Joe's, was a drainpour for me. Even at $1.99 I won't be buying any of the other Boatswain bombers.

    Totally got confused. Double Jack is made by Firestone Walker. Imperial Jack is made by Minhas Brewing. And from what reviews say, its quite bad.

    What are you crazy dudes doing paying $1.99 for a bomber and expecting anything other than nasty swill!? This heat really must be getting to everyone!

    For the most part it is pretty low end craft. I do like the Berghoff Backyard Ale though, just something about it that I find enjoyable when ice cold.

    I always pass on their beers unless I'm at the Berghoff downtown or at O'Hare. Under Huber, they put out middle of the road beers tht I thought they were good gateway beers. But since they change over..... I think they have even ruined Huber and Huber Bock. B*stards..

    Lazy Mutt... worst beer (although its the only Minhas beer Ive had) I have ever had and it actually sells a lot here in SW Wisc which just baffles me.
