Our Northeast salesman told us that NEBCo suspended shipments this past week. I'm not surprised; over the past few months they'd give us two cases of Sea Hag maybe every other week or so, even if we'd ordered five. 668? Forget it, we have a better chance of getting Gandhi-Bot. IMO, It's a combination of a low supply, a mediocre distributor, and the fallout over G-Bot. I know Fairfield and New Haven Counties have a different distributor, but I'd imagine they didn't get any either.

We have people coming into the store every day asking for Sea Hag, which a vast majority of our customers say they prefer over G-Bot. When we get our minuscule allotment, it sells out in a day or two.

Thanks much for the tips @Evmo31!

The weather was pretty miserable so we ended up just bee lining it home without making any detours, but I'll tuck these away for next time I'm cutting through CT.

There was a good amount of Hag (canned 2/24) at Amity near the brewery on Saturday.

Probably not. It just seems like NEBCo has a hard time keeping up with demand, and Northeast plays favorites with allocation.

FYI, Northeast is a distributor in parts of CT and RI. Generally, dealing with them is a nightmare, but they have a ton of exclusive items (Fireball, Newcastle, Dos Equis, awesome craft beer) which make them a necessary evil to work with. But I would take any information gathered from their sales staff with a grain of salt. I'm just relaying what our salesman told us.

This proves that they're still pumping out cans, they're just going to Star(?) instead of Northeast. They supply New Haven & Fairfield Counties IIRC.

I had some on tap at Mcladdens in Simsbury on Sat night. Maybe they're just sending kegs up this way? Or that keg's been on a while. tasted great either way.

I was visiting my in-laws in Watertown this weekend, managed to find some dated 2/24 at Nutmeg in Waterbury but the girl at the register told me that I was lucky to get any and that it was their first delivery in over a month (which coincides nicely with my last visit to my in-laws and my last Sea Hag purchase from the same store). I don't even try to find it in Watertown anymore, I just keep hearing that distribution to Litchfield County is almost non-existent.

Picked up a 6pk today at Kays Wines and Spirits in East Hartford, same date as those stated above 2/27. Tastes great.
On a side note picked up some Grey Sail captains daughter, finally hit Hartford County. I like it..haha

Scored a 2/27 6-pack at my favorite store in West Hartford last night. Still only $8.99, which is what I was paying whole foods in Glastonbury back in 2008 when in moved to Connecticut.

It is sometimes on tap at Max Amore randomly in Glastonbury. Usually on at Willimantic Brewing as well.

Tap Takeover at Engine Room with Stone last night was epic. Might have hoisted my first and last GBot. :slight_frown:

I know it is not central CT but I was just in Amity Beverage right by the brewery and they had PILES of Hag. 3/5 canning date on it.

Ah, another week in a row without a NEBCo delivery. I wish they'd post an explanation on Facebook/Twitter so we'd have something more than conjecture to tell our customers. It's okay though, we got two cases of SoS.

This is what I was told on a recent visit to NEBCo.

"Trying to keep up with demand while waiting for the brew house expansion equipment to me made which is taking most of a year to arrive."

Hag is their best selling beer,so not surprised that stock has been a issue.Esp. the way nebco. has blown up in the last year +.I'll also note that they have recently temporarily retired Elm City pils to help make room to make more hag AND Bot.

Trust me,the fine gents. at New England are neck deep with orders, and doing the best they can.

    Cheers

Sad news regarding Elm City. An excellent, local Pilsner. Really tired of the IPA craze/demand/scene.
