Dude you're so whipped! Ha ha. Hey, I'm not one to talk. I'm in the same predicament as you. Plus she has been complaining about my ever growing gut.

If I have to work the next day I limit myself to one 12oz beer (ABV doesn't matter) unless it's Sunday during NFL season then that limit goes up to two 12oz or one bomber. On days I don't have to work the next day I try to stick with between 24-36 oz (again ABV doesn't matter). I hate hangovers and have really just started to enjoy having a beer daily. I'd rather have one beer a day for 7 days, than drink 7 in one day.

Usually 2 beers a night. Sometimes more on the weekends, sometimes none.

One in the AM which is usually posted in WBAYDN and/or NBS. One or two in the evening, usually not posted. ABV is not relevant unless I'm driving, then only one if high ABV, two if normal to low.

I do not drink every day, sometimes on call. When I do drink its to chill out. I don't think I've ever set a limit on that.

Depends on the setting. I usually limit myself to two if I'm working the next day--one if it's at or over 10% abv. If I'm off the next days and I have no plans to go anywhere, I'll have 3-6, but it's rare that I have more than four at a time anymore.

I drink responsibly in general. That said, a banter happens every now and then. It's never planned. It just happens, but either way I'm responsible about it. Most of the time though, I'm drinking no more than I should when I should.

I was thinking the same thing ha ha

Last summer I went a little crazy (by my standards) and I was doing 1-3 beers a few nights a week and 8-12 during the course of a weekend. I workout and run regularly and watch what I eat but even still, by the late Fall I had gained some weight in my midsection and just felt all around awful. I have since cut way back and don't drink during most weeks and if I do, it is 1-2. On the weekends I limit myself to roughly 6 (but now during most weekends I am drinking 4 at most) and I immediately started dropping the beer gut and feel a lot better.

I will respond to some of the quotes that if I have to do ABV math when I drink I must have a problem. No I do not, I just choose to limit the amount of alcohol I have so that I do not feel like s**t in the morning. I enjoy beer very much, but do not overindulge so that I feel bad in the morning....

I always set a limit before going out or drinking at home. Usually the equivalent of one 12% bomber. I certain can and have consumed more in a sitting, but usually my palate is shot with anything more than that. The only trouble I've had is tasting events. You can drink a lot of 2-4oz tasters without realizing it. All of the sudden, the math gets hard and then someone pulls out a whale and you need to have one more taste!

I measure by volume, not ABV. Typically it's 2, maybe 3 beers during the week and 4 to 6 on weekends.

Then your girlfriend sounds like a wise woman. :sunglasses:

Not all of us want to continue to drink close to a case of beer a week and I care about what I look like and more importantly, how I feel...and it's far more important to me to be able to outrun the people half my age vs. out drink them. Some people want to and can handle a ton of beer a week and more power to them if that's what they are going for however for me, the negative effects of doing that weren't worth it...I love craft beer for sure, but not at the expense of my well-being.

One per night if I have work the next morning. Nothing better to help me get a good night sleep then some tasty suds after dinner. Then much heavier when I'm off the next day (4+).
